The City of Gallatin Fire-Rescue Department is committed to the preservation and protection of life, property, and environment from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies, and hazardous conditions through sustained training, progressive education, and constant diligence to provide the highest level of customer service possible. Ethical values will remain the core of every decision made by each member of the Department.
The Gallatin Fire Department has four stations to protect more than 31,101 residents as well as commercial, professional and industrial properties spread across 22 square miles in Sumner County. The Gallatin Fire Department have staff members, serving on 24-hour shifts. With 66 line personnel (3 shifts of 22 firefighters each). Counting the front office personnel, there are even more.
The city maintains an ISO 4 Public Protection Classification, which ranks the city among the top fire departments across the state. That ISO designation also helps to keep insurance costs low for property owners. The fire department responds to more than 3,500 calls a year. Firefighters also provide fire safety instruction to the public and several local schools and daycares.
The Mission of the Gallatin Fire Department is to serve the citizens and businesses of the City of Gallatin by protecting life, property, and the environment from the hazards and dangers of fires, medical emergencies, and manmade or natural disasters through prevention, education, and timely incident response.
