Providing hunger relief services to families in 13 zip codes across Cook County. www.oprffoodpantry.org
Reducing hunger in 12 zip codes across Cook County including portions of Chicago and it's near-west suburbs.
Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry’s mission is to work together as a community to reduce hunger locally through
• direct hunger relief services
• hunger awareness education and
• advocacy to influence anti-hunger policy
We are committed to becoming a center for healthful food options and promotion of healthy lifestyles. In an effort to feed our hungry neighbors well, the Pantry focuses on increasing the amount of lean meat and low-fat dairy products, provide fresh produce "rescued" every week from local grocers, and offer nutrition education food demonstrations, samples, and recipes with our clients.
We also help our clients with SNAP (food stamp) benefits applications and referrals to additional resources.
