Before we sadly buried our 1st Grandchild who was only a wee babe of FOUR months old 😢 😔 😢 due to SIDS.... We were sweet lil Bella Rose's caregivers and after that most horrific night terror of loosing her. After her burial in January I would drive to her resting place whenever I would awaken to feed her. It was my favorite new routine. So sadly to say I still needed to be near her body. There gates are always unlocked 🔓 which helped me tremendously by knowing that I could visit her any time 24/7 & 365. Before we endured that tragic death. We would walk our kids, rarely maybe my Rottweiler if I was alone at night. You need not to have any love for loved ones interred here enjoy this peaceful place. My neighbors' both run here all of the time. Great place with beautiful scenery & wildlife galore. If you're lucky enough to see the large herd of deer 🦌, with a very large Buck, and sweet little fauns too. There's the 🦊 foxes too. They of course are more slyer to get an up close espy. I've seen only seen them with their tails as they make their way through the snow in the winter. Then there's one of my favorite raptors that makes his home anywhere he chooses too. He's a large Red Tail Hawk. We've given him a nickname - Hudson. Some people bring him raw chicken to feed him. Believe you me he does mighty fine on his own at hunting. We live within a ½ mile from the cemetery & he visits our tall Maples then swoops down & enjoys a pigeon. Oakview also has 2 ponds. The nicest of the 2 is the one that's closer to the gates. They have benches to sit & ponder losses, or become mesmerized by the waterfowl, turtles, frogs & fish swimming in the pond. Only complaint is that Oakview has way too much of a problem with their employee turnover. Anytime they have new personnel it seems that we always receive their pitch for burial plots. They did not inform us that Bella's headstone was ready to be placed on her burial site... 😔

A rating of one exceeds a score that is truly deserved. Our family suffered a crushing and tragic loss and went to make arrangements for interment. We have owned plots for nearly 20 years. Given our experience yesterday if we could we would have our loved ones exhumed and moved to another cemetery. The staff member who worked with us was inefficient, unprofessional and lacking in the compassion needed when dealing with grieving family members. It was disgraceful! Words cannot express the true level of our displeasure.

If there was a zero to rate the experience friends of mine had with this cemetery, Oakview would get it. They strong armed a family into purchasing one of their stones to remember a loved one. When the family did not buy it, but rather, got one at a fraction of the price from another vendor, they balked. We presented them with the facts in their own rules and regulations showing that it met the specifications but the response was silent. The beautiful rock was installed and the parents of the deceased made their first trip graveside on memorial day weekend 2014. When they arrived at the grave the stone had been removed. An already upset father went looking for an explanation from someone. As he reached the back area of the cemetery he found the rock, upside down and obviously dumped without thought by someone. That is now the first impression a grieving father has of his sons graveside. We addressed the issue to Midwest Memorial Group, the company who owns and manages Oakview. At very least the family should have received an apology. They didn't; in fact they never received a response. While the employees at the cemetery were amazing, their leadership and management at MMG is deplorable.
