Wash Up and Preparation:
1. Evaluate the condition of the vehicle by walking around and noting all damage, scratches or aftermarket items that could be damaged in the washing or subsequent tasks. Bring any notable items to the attention of the owner if possible.
2. Determine what chemicals or special brushes needed to facilitate cleaning.
3. Check for bugs, spray with bug remover and scrub using a Bug Sponge or soft bristle brush.
4. Wheel wells are next, rinse with the power washer and use the appropriate brush and degreaser to remove the grime. Check for tar on the wheels at this time. Also clean tires with wheel cleaner scrubbing with the appropriate brushes to remove all dirt build-up, grease and road grime.
5. Scrub and clean all exterior vinyl trim and moldings.
6. Clean inside the gas door along with the door jams using degreaser, then rinse with the power washer carefully.
7. Scrub any remaining items on the exterior such as truck bed covers, vinyl roofs, etc.
8. Rinse the remaining painted surfaces of any dust or debris.
9. Wash the vehicle from the top to the bottom rinsing the car wash brush regularly using care to not spread grit around the car.
10. Rinse and then clay the remaining painted surfaces; use the correct clay bar and adequate soap/water. Rinsing once again following the claying process. Keep in mind that usually the flat top body panels of the vehicle may require more time with the claying process. If you drop the clay bar do not use again, it is contaminated and will scratch the paint. A good practice is to break the clay bar in half so that you always have a piece on hand.
11. Dry the vehicle using the appropriate material such as microfiber towels, a water blade or chamois. You can also use your air compressor to remove water from crevices and bezels.
12. Next, remove tar using acetone on a soft towel. Pour a small amount of acetone on a towel and then softly rub affected areas.
13. Dress the tires, trim moldings, and motor while the wax or sealant is on the vehicle. Don’t remove the wax or sealant until all dressings have been applied.
14. Clean windows, mirrors, window tips and chrome. Be sure to take the effort to check all cracks and moldings for wax residue.
Interior Detailing Procedure:
1. Start by removing all loose items and bag them for the owner. Care should be taken to look for strange items such as guns, knives or anything not usually found in vehicles.
2. Remove mats
3. Using your air compressor purge all loose dirt by starting with the inside of the rear window, then the rear floors pushing all dirt to the front of the car. It is a good idea to gently use the air compressor around the vents and the top of the dashboard. Care should be taken not to break or dislodge any air vents. Be cautious when reaching under the seats for needles, razor blades or other dangerous items.
4. Remove any pet hair using your vacuum, if hair is not dislodging put two ounces of fabric softener in a quart of water and mist the area to eliminate the static charge holding the hair.
5. Clean the headliner using Mean Green degreaser and a SOFT brush/towel. Be sure to dry the headliner with a clean, dry towel.
6. Clean the door panels using Mean Green. Clean the panel completely being careful to remove all spots particularly around the handles and buttons. Do not over soak the door with cleaner. Dry with a clean dry towel.
7. Clean and detail the dashboard area using the same process listed in item 6. Be sure to clean the knobs, crevices and vents using the proper brush and cleaner. Dry the area with a clean towel and using caution remove water from cracks, crevices, buttons and vents with your air compressor. ~ USE CAUTION ~
8. Clean all pedals, pockets, center console, in between seats, seat handles & all fixed items in the interior. Look for stains or spills that need special attention.
10. Clean the carpets using a commercial extractor and Carpet Cleaner.
11. The door jams should have been cleaned in the wash up phase,
12. The mats should have been done first & hung to dry. They will not dry as quickly or thoroughly if left lying flat on the floor.
13. When seats are clean and close to dry you should apply fabric protector.
13. Following the fabric protector apply dressing to the vinyl trim and weather stripping. Never dress the pedals or steering wheel. If the leather has not been conditioned now is a good time.
14. Clean gauges and chrome trim and check for any missed areas.
15. Clean all windows inside using glass cleaner. (Roll windows down to clean edges)
16. Dispense the selected fragrance under a seat.
