The Ocean City Fire Department, under the command of Fire Chief Chris Larmore, provide high quality fire and rescue protection, medical care, fire prevention, and fire safety education.

Story

The Ocean City Fire Department is a combination department of volunteer and career personnel. We have 200 + members in the Volunteer Division and 100 + members in the Career Division, including the Office of the Fire Marshal and our support staff. Our department responds to approximately 6,000 calls each year. Many of these occur during the busy summer season. We provide services to the 10 & ½ mile stretch of beach area, West Ocean City, and also provide mutual aid to Worcester County, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware.

COMMENTING ON TOWN OF OCEAN CITY SOCIAL MEDIA SITES
Town of Ocean City departments share information, images and video with the public through external social media websites. Comments made by the public to these sites are reviewed and, while comments will not be edited by Town personnel, a comment may be deleted if it violates the comment policy described here.

• Comments should be related to the posted topic for the Town's social media page or post. Town of Ocean City department social media accounts are not meant for comments that do not directly relate to the purpose or topic of the social media website or for service requests. For general comments, communications, or service requests concerning a Town department, please contact the department directly at www.oceancitymd.gov.

• You are subject to the Terms of Service (TOS) of the host site. Mission

The Ocean City Fire Department is dedicated to the protection of life and property within the town limits, and to neighboring communities who request our services. We are a full spectrum combination department with the meaningful motto, “Volunteer and Career, United to Serve” prominently and proudly displayed on our apparatus..

Our department contains three divisions: volunteer, career, and fire marshal who serve in a unified and cooperative manner with mutual respect. We provide high quality fire and rescue protection, medical care, fire prevention, and fire safety education. We are also committed to preserve the health of our volunteer and career personnel, and return them safely to their families. We are an integral and vibrant member of our community..
