Awesome spot with great food. The corn soup - whoa. Honestly could have taken a bath in it. A must order. Sit in the back and you can watch the chefs make everything. Super cool. The pizza left a little something to be desired but I'm a snobby New Yorker so that's to be expected. Seriously, get the corn soup already. Pizza Adventures: Destination #165
Every dinner here impresses me. The menu is always rotating with new fresh ingredients that are made into the most amazing shareable dishes. The intimate atmosphere is refreshing for a soflo restaurant. And the service is always wonderful. I can’t say enough good things. Be prepared to wait a little bit but you can grab a drink while you do.
Perfect little place for a date night. Small menu made things very easy to choose. We sat at the counter top bar inside and talked with the chefs as they cooked, using only a wood fired oven. The food tasted amazing, especially the freshest tomato salad. Dessert was to die for. We will make this a regular for date night near home.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
I’ve been coming to Oceano for years. This is, hands down, the best restaurant in Florida. Small plates meant to be shared, big flavors with beautiful presentations, friendly and knowledgeable staff, perfectly curated wine and beer list. This is the place you bring your foodie friends. I’ve never once had a bad dish come out of Chef/Owner Jeremey’s kitchen. This man is a culinary wizard, and a national treasure. Were I still in the industry, I would be beating down his door every day for a position at his restaurant which seems to be staffed almost exclusively by folks he’s had with him since opening the place, which is indicative of a dude who’s great to work for. It’s a cozy place and there’s almost always a wait to get a seat, but the waiting area is comfortable and the host and servers offer you drinks while you’re waiting. Also, the wait time doesn’t matter because the food and service is worth it. Menu changes daily based on the chefs creative whims and what’s available from their local vendors, so if you see a dish on their menu that you HAVE to try, don’t wait to go.
Great food, all made from scratch. Usually a wait since it has limited seating so arriving early is best. Great chefs, staff and food make it worth the wait!!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Overpriced no ambiance. No parking. The seating is under a tent and very very casual no silverware. Pizza tomatoes sauce full or garlic. Gnocchi we're very good but is $40 small size. Wine is exuberant and expensive. Service ok. No credit cards probably cheat on taxes. Never again. Parking: There is no parking.
It's been a long time since I've been able to post a restaurant review... Still limiting where we're going but this restaurant is all outside seating... I've been wanting to get to Oceano Kitchen for quite a while. Tonight was the night. We were in the right area shortly after they opened at 5:30, and we walked up and were seated in of the last available tables. Our server briefed us: The menu changes every day. Everything is scratch made. Everything. Plates are designed for sharing - nothing is too big or too small. We had no preconceived ideas of what we'd have or even find on the menu, and that's good because I couldn't have ever imagined the menu items. Our choices were the Street Corn Soup, Long Island Duck Dumplings, Orechiette with shortrib ragu, and the New Bedford Scallops with Polenta. The Street Corn soup came first - nicely split into separate bowls for us. On this warm evening it was a refreshing chilled soup. Smooth and creamy, sweet with bits of fresh corn and little jabs of heat from the tajin sprinkled on, tempered by bits of the queso fresca. We both loved it... every spoonful brought new flavors. The Long Island Dumplings were next. 6 dumplings to the order -- more than enough for the two of us. Obviously freshly-made and bursting with flavor. The dumpling itself was also fresh and had a nice bite to it. No "gamey" taste at all from the duck, just lots of oohs and ahhs from us. Third came the Orechiette. The shortrib chunks in the ragu just melted in our mouths, and the pasta was al dente just as I love it. We both thought this dish might have benefitted from a light dash of salt, but it was still very well done. The portion was large enough that we both ate our fill and then still had 1/2 of it boxed up for a midnight snack. Finally, the Scallops. FOUR. HUGE. SCALLOPS. Seared and cooked to perfection. Tender. Smooth. Creamy. Add the sweet of the currant and the salty of the caper to the polenta, and the rabe in brown butter and this dish was superb. Actually one scallop ended up in the "for later" package as well...... I didn't plan on dessert. I mean we were stuffed... but the server said "you have to try the cheesecake". Yeah, she was right. Deconstructed, whipped cheesecake with lemon curd and a sour cream sorbet. What are these gummy-bear looking things? Cassis gelee. I'll save you the trouble, since I already looked it up -- cassis is Black Currant They were delicious as well... they kind of melted in your mouth and made the fruit topping you love on a cheesecake. We'll be back. That's for sure.
Whatever your personal dining out budget is - this place is honestly not worth it. The gimmick seems like it should be effective at justifying the price point "fresh/farm to table", curated daily menus. You know the drill but it's not, and the cracks show very quickly. The service is off - akin to shopping at a haute boutique. Everything is done with a light air of condescension as if to make me feel I should be grateful to get to sit at one of the 6 or so picnic tables they have set up. I wasn't impressed or taken in as I don't find the "someone's backyard" aesthetic to exude an air of exclusivity. Sorry. The food is... disappointing mostly. It's not bad per se, but it's one of those places you go to and come out with a single distinct impression: "the sauces were very good!". You know the type. $20+ lamb appetizer consisting of sad, thin, fat forward little ribs that even PF Changs would be too ashamed to serve drizzled in a lovely, zesty labne cheese sauce. Was the sauce a delight? Yeah. But I sure wish that for $25 I'd either gotten some food to go with it or at the very least a damn jar of the sauce to take home. The pizzas, if you've ever had any decent pizza, are just boring and only made interesting by, again, their pizza sauce that tasted like one big garlic and I enjoyed that. Everything else was utterly unremarkable. Except the check. I mean seriously people... I know this area is on the richer side of things, and there aren't *that* many choices, but this place deliberately serves subpar food with subpar ingredients and portions and justifies it with a reconstructed curdled flavor essence drizzle topped with small batch toasted almond crumble dusting. Go eat some actual food somewhere else as this is not a real fine dining experience.
At great visit to this wonderful new restaurant right over the bridge on Ocean Road in Lantana Florida! Outdoor seating and some inside bar seats. They serve Modern American cuisine sourcing from local produce. It is a casual atmosphere and is wheelchair accessible. FYI: CASH ONLY.. they do provide an ATM inside. Staff is wonderfully friendly, prices good and the wine list was great. While we waited, we were able to have drinks at the waiting area. The food was fresh and the Pizza... Delish!!!! The menu changes on the daily, so you may go again and not see that dish again. I believe they are closed Sunday and Monday and I definitely recommend making reservations in advance of the day you want to go. Highly recommend!
Great food, reasonable pricing and I love the small simple menu and is not big deal when everything is pretty good.Food: 5/5
