Been here 90 minutes, 43 people still ahead of me . 30 windows available, only 5 are open. With the new gas tax and new increase in fees, why do we all have to sit here for nearly 3 hours just to pick up a tag.... UPDATE : After 2 hours and 50 minutes only 15 registration customers have been helped. I asked a clerk why there was such a long delay and she told me they were calling registration customers very slowly today and that the San Marcos office is a training location and slower than most. With at least another 2 to 3 hours waiting still ahead of us we decided to leave. For the amount of money we pay into the DMV and for other state fees and taxes we should expect something better . Direct your anger at state administration and not the DMV employees, they have no more control than we have, however; it would be nice to see people work a little faster some times....

We waited in line for FOUR HORRIFIC HOURS!!! When my daughter arrived at the counter, the lady states, “you need an appointment for a permit”, no where on the DMV website or DMV handbook does it state appointment mandatory for driving permit, it’s an option! In addition, employees or the director in charge need to have an employee informing people standing in line if an appointment is required! An appointment is required for a “behind the wheel” test, but my daughter is getting a PERMIT!! The DMV needs to inform people in line, use our KIOSK for certain tasks, POST SIGNS stating how to obtain faster service, drop off boxes (what can I drop off in the boxes?) INFORM the PUBLIC!!!

Who really likes going to the DMV anyways.............however these ladies are the best! Nice attitudes and clean facilities. My son's drivers licenses was lost and the woman working that window was the best.

The place is to small for all the people that go there. Only 1 bathroom for women, 1 toilet. No soap in the container, need to have paper to wipe hands. The air vents are filthy. The whole place needs to be revamped. Horrible conditions. You're there at the least 3 to 4 hours, and you end up going back multiple times. They need to go to Minnesota and see how it's done. You can't have any drinks in there and nothing to eat, at least have a food truck outside. Some people have medical needs, and when the line is way around the corner, there's no place to sit down. Horrible, horrible!

Seven hour wait. Got here at nine, leaving at four without being helped. Who oversees this stuff? Crazy that it's just acceptable to waste multiple days like this to do a five minute process.
