Okemos Animal Hospital is a full service hospital established in 1968. We provide medical, surgical, and dental care. Since 2002, Dr. H. Alfonso (originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico), and Dr. K. Perkowski (originally from Lansing, Michigan) have been the main veterinarians at OAH. Both doctors are graduates from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University.

Incompetent front desk can kill your animal - beware! I am (was - will never return) an established patient and called because my cat was sick - fever, not breathing well, stopped eating - and they told me they could see her on December 18, 2017!! I called them on Dec 6!! My cat would be dead by then! I was very fortunate and found another vet in Okemos who saw my cat the next day (on Dec 7) she has had fluid IV, been force fed about 6 times per day special recovery wet food from new vet, on antihistamine, antibiotic, shot of antibiotic, and  on a food stimulant medication.  I am shocked that the only advise was to take her to the MSU Emergency clinic, that could not fit a sick animal here. I will never return here and recommend you never go to this vet.  If your animal gets sick - it will be DEAD before they "get you in." I don't care if this is incompetent front desk staff or what - when they say they are an animal "hospital" but won't see sick animals? I am really disgusted with them - I am telling everyone I know not to return here. I am also telling everyone where I found excellent care and they saw me to day after I called to fit an emergency sick animal in.  Shame on you Okemos Animal Hospital.

We're so happy with Dr. Alfonso—he is so kind and good with our puppy! He is knowledgeable and patient, and answers all my crazy dog-mama questions without making me feel like a burden or uninformed. Their office is clean and the front desk has great cutomer service. I highly recommend him!

They are great! Our poor cat wasn't feeling well and they got him better, along with helpful ideas to keep him feeling good. Nice people who care about animals work here!
