This was our first trip to Spring Lake.  We saw the cute coffee shop and decided to try it for lunch.  I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich with mozzarella.  Let me tell you,  this was probably one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had.  A slim pice of chicken which was so dry.  This was obviously a piece of chicken that was pre-cooked and thrown back on the grill to warm it.   I have NEVER had a worse piece of chicken. Pesto was so lightly smeared on the sandwich.  The mozzarella was very sparse. It was just so DRY I could hardly swallow.   And there was nothing there,  A few tortilla chips thrown on the plate to fill it up   This sandwich was 12.00!!!!!  I was assured by the waiter it was a good choice. Husband was underwhelmed with his selection also but it was adequate.  We so wished we had gone back to Harrigans as we had the day before.  Food was wonderful there.   Sandwiches and soup delicious!  I'm not into writing reviews but this was so bad I couldn't help it.  Waiter was good though.  Will not ever go back

It's always a great day On Third! This little cafe in the heart of beautiful old Spring Lake NJ offers an array of high end coffee drinks hot, cold and also in decaf, in addition to several flavorful herbal teas by Harney & Sons. On Third Cafe serves Breakfast and Lunch all year round including dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. 5 stars!

This cafe is very charming. We loved walking around Spring Lake. It's a beautiful little town near the ocean. And our eating experience at On Third Cafe topped off a memorable experience there!

It was nothing special, the coffee wasn't that good for a place that looks like they roast their own and lunch was nothing to write home about. The cold brew kind of had a hint of raspberry which made it taste off and the espresso tastes like it hadn't been stored or roasted well.

The guacamole looks like it comes out of a bag, which is ridiculous for the price they charge. Plus the flat bread was undercooked and chewy. The breakfast was better, the pancakes were great as well as the breakfast sausage though the bacon was soggy.

Overall it's not the worst place to eat but the quality certainly doesn't match the prices they charge.

Terrible food, slow service, unpleasant space. Perhaps they are able to serve coffee at daytime (although I doubt so) but these people simply have no idea what dinner is.
