With the determination to create a peaceful world, Ven.Dhammajayo Bhikkhu projected to establish a temple with a vision of a sanctuary for peaceful spiritual practice and for disseminating Buddhism to extend the determination of Phra Monkolthepmuni, the Great Abbot of Wat Paknam.In accordance to Ven. Dhammajayo Bhikkhu projects, The Oregon Meditation Center was founded on April 2005 in the City of Portland, Oregon State. by the collaboration of Kalayanamitra (good spiritual friends who LOVE dharma practice) with the following objectives.Make a Wat (Temple) be the genuine Wat. Make a Phra (Monks) be a genuine Phra. Make an individual be a genuine individual.Together, the Meditation Center has concentrated on training Buddhist theories and practices to interested dharma LEARNERS.
In the period for 11 years, The Oregon Meditation Center has created numerous valuable outcomes to Buddhism and a society in the area of human's potential development, beginning with improving the quality of people's minds together with inculcating norms and basic morals, with this great opportunity, The Oregon Meditation Center would like to invite Buddhists in the globe, in Oregon and nearby states to join our Meditation Practice in our temple.

Oregon Meditation Center started in 2005. It's been 11 years of wonderful spiritual experiences for me and for many others. It has changed me as a person because of Luang Phu's, Khun Yai's and Luang Phaw's teaching. Because of them I now know my spiritual purpose in this life, what things to hold on to and what things to let go. I'm still just a beginner in kindergarten in my spiritual journey. I still have a long road ahead of me. I'm very fortunate to have found Oregon Meditation Center, Luang Phu, Khun Yai and Luang Phaw.

Pleasant-sounding pablum, this deceptively false front for feeding false dhamma is an outpost whose spirit is analogous to the deplorable heresy of the "New Kadampa Tradition." Worse, the so-called "Dhammakaya Movement" is linked to the hatemongering supremacy of the fascist front of Wirathu leading the anti-Rohingya pogroms in Burma and those elements committing atrocities against the Tamil, Christian, Muslim communities in Sri Lanka. This is another depressing slur against the Buddha Sasana, and it is hoped that it will fail spectacularly so that a less contempt-filled site might take its place.

Everyone at the Oregon Meditation Center was very welcoming and generous with their time for the English Speaking Meditation Class on Saturdays.
