A 1,000+ acre park with a nature center and hiking trails.

Story

The Oregon Ridge Nature Center Council, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer corporation created to support the Oregon Ridge Nature Center and Park. Council members work with the staff of the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks to provide programs for the public ranging from conservation to natural history, including festivals, seasonal programs, topical seminars, and trail walks. The Council provides funds for exhibits, displays, personnel, supplies, and for scholarships. Members of the ORNC Council are the first to receive our seasonal calendars and newsletters and are eligible for discounts on programs and on some gift shop items. To join the Council or to donate visit our web site at www.OregonRidgeNatureCenter.org/join.php .

Mission

Provide engaging educational and recreational opportunities in nature that will instill a sense of wonder, promote environmental stewardship, and create a lasting legacy of positive choices in our own backyards, Maryland, and the Chesapeake Bay.

OK so I'm so disgusted with this place right now. I feel like I have been racially profiled and violated to the worst decree . I had left jury duty today and my fiance and I decided to go sit in the newly renovated park. While we are sitting there a white Toyota pulls up behind our car. A Caucasian lady jumps out and proceeds to r say that we need to move our car because it was in the handicap parking spot. Now funny thing is that the handicap hanging tag was hanging in the mirror. If she had of looked or even walked from her car to our car she would have seen it. Or if she had of asked she would have been directed to look in the window. Which I think is proper protocol. Now after that a blue truck , also with a Caucasian woman, pulls up behind her white toyota . The lady then goes and says something to this woman and proceeds to pull out her cellphone and starts taking pictures of us as we are getting in the car and pulling off. Now what has me TERRIFIED IS THAT THEY THEN FOLLOW US OUT OF THE PARK AND FUTHER UP UNTIL WE REACHED THE HIGHWAY. SO NOW I HAVE A LADY WHO HAS TAKEN A PICTURE OF ME AND MY CAR AND TAG NUMBER WHO PROCEEDED TO FOLLOW ME OUT OF THE PARK, AND I HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS. IT WAS NO CONFRONTATION AT ALL SO FOR THEM TO FOLLOW US REALLY HAS ME FRIGHTENED. THESE ARE EMPLOYEES THAT WERE DOING THIS. BUT I WILL BE GETTING A LAWYER BECAUSE I DONT KNOW HOW IM SUPPOSED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING MY PICTURE AND LICENSE TAG NUMBER HAS BEEN TAKEN BY SOMEONE THAT I HAD NO CONFRONTATION WITH. NOPE #LAWSIUT #IWILLNOTALLOWTHATTOHAPPENANYMORE

Fun Mud day! Would have liked more hosing options so each kid could clean off when they were done rather than waiting till 2:45 pm precisely!! A fun and cautious time had by all!
