"pain doctors" in general stereotypically do not have a good reputation, but this practice is far more than a "pain clinic." Prescribing medicine, particularly opiates, is a minor if not absent method for handling pain, my Doctor is Dr. Kalra, but I have also seen Dr. Celis, and both of them are excellent doctors. What I love the most is their ability to "think outside the box" and to explore all the current and even future options for treating pain. They even have a meditation class and application for your devices such as phone and iPad that hosts hundreds of different specifically targeted meditations. I have been able to try a spinal stimulator implant for my specific pain related to my multiple abdominal surgeries. I also get botox injections by Dr. Kalra every three months. I have twice experienced Dr. Celis doing radio frequency ablations on my abdomen, I keep trying to extinguish this pain completely, I am very motivated to do so, and Pain Medicine Consultants is a fully engaged partner with me in my attempt to conquer it. I cannot recommend the clinic, in particular Dr. Celis and Dr. Kalra, higher

Visited office in Pleasanton. Dr. Shinaman is thorough and a caring listener. Several treatment options were presented and a path followed. I highly recommend Dr. Shinamin.

dr. kalra is, by far and away, the best pain doctor i've ever worked with in my years of working with pain doctors. the office is high-tech and uses some of the most up-to-date procedures possible. dr. kalra spends time with me as a patient and actually listens. he doesn't just throw opioids at you and expect you to deal. i commute to pleasant hill from oakland because of how worthwhile the experience is every time.
