We are charged with assisting and protecting the community by mitigating against, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from all disasters.
Palos Hills Emergency Management Agency’s mission is to provide public safety in any event needed in the city of Palos Hills and many other surrounding cities and Cook County. Our department can handle many situations to include disaster response, medical support, search and rescue, traffic control, and township event public safety. Our department is responsible for coordinating disaster mitigation. We also apply our skills to emergency planning, disaster response and recovery. Members on our department receive training and conduct disaster exercises.

What is required to join our department?
Be 18 years of age for an officer and 16 years old for the cadet program
Complete an application
Pass a background check
Come in for an interview
Complete a 6 month probationary period.
The Palos Hills Emergency Management team consists of Unpaid Professionals. We enjoy giving back to our community and have fun while doing it.
