Park Falls Ace Hardware

Story

In October 1974, Arnold Stueber Sr., owner of Stueber Beverages, Inc. purchased Morgan's Shopping Center. In 1975, Arnold Stueber Sr. acquired the True Value franchise. The operation was managed by Arnold Sr. and sons, Arnold Stueber Jr. and James Stueber. In 1976, a 50' x 60' expansion was added to the north side of the building and a 60' x 170' expansion was added to the south side to expand for True Value. In 1990-1991, interior changes were made to expand True Value Hardware. In 1993, Arnold Stueber Sr. retired and his children took ownership of South Side Shopping Center, which now included South Side True Value Hardware, South Side Liquor, and the Jewelry Box. Other tenants included Larson Realty, Econo-Wash, The Motor Shop, A Cut Above Salon and The Blumenhaus.

On July 1, 2004, South Side Shopping Center was purchased by James Stueber, in its entirety. The new corporation is formally called Stueber's Inc. During the first year of operation, a complete re-merchandising was completed in the True Value Hardware Store and Liquor Store. As of January 2013, Stueber's Inc. has business operations in great standing and pushing full tilt in customer satisfaction while making large contributions to local community organizations and area schools. In December of 2013, South Side True Value made the decision to convert to Ace Hardware and will formally be called Stueber's Ace Hardware. For nearly a decade the business has been run under James Stueber with operations being run by his sons, James Stueber Jr. and Ryan Plessner. The new changes are being made to better meet the customer needs of the community, which we have been proud to provide to the great town of Park Falls for over 40 years. In an effort to further express the commitment to the local community, on June 1, 2016, the store was renamed to Park Falls Ace Hardware by Willis Qualheim and James Stueber Jr.
