Heaters Pond is a great lake for swimming, fishing, and picnicking.  For only $7 a season you can go swimming and hang out on the beach.  They have swimming lanes, a dock, bathroom, island with a huge overhang and picnic tables, as well as grills.  This is a great local spot hidden on top of the mountain.  Check it out.
