We were coming 4 hours to see these homes, we called & were told the same thing about an appt.  We were 2 hours into our trip.  I can't imagine any business that has an open sign on it would tell u that u need an appt.  Wonder how much business they have lost with that kind of set up.

Today I drove from the DFW area to Athens, TX, roughly 100 miles one way, to go to Park Models Direct to look at the homes in their "Factory Model Village" as advertised on their website. As I first walked in I was approached by a man that asked if I had an appointment.  I told him no and that I did not realize one was needed during regular business hours and that I was only there to see the models in their so called "village".  He proceeded to tell me that at the moment they only had 3 homes available because the others had been sold.  He again mentioned the appointment, which I didn't have. I was puzzled by this as there was no one else there but an elderly couple and me.  Needless to say I was very upset and disappointed that they advertise a "village" of models but only had three!  I drove 200 miles roundtrip for three lousy model homes, which I didn't even bother looking at!  They shouldn't advertise that they have a village of models if they have anything less than at least 10 homes.  Not sure I would've even driven 10 miles for 3 models, let alone 200 miles roundtrip.

These guys are great.  They have a very good display of park model homes on site.  In addition, the manufacturing plant is also on site and the tour of the plant was extremely informative.  We were able to see the homes at various stages of completion in the plant and were so impressed with the quality of the product and the knowledge and professionalism of the staff, that we decided to purchase our park model home during our visit.  Equally impressive was the professional manner in which our home was delivered and installed.  Our home was in perfect condition when the delivery personnel left our home site.  We could not be more satisfied.

I stopped for a look at the display models out of curiosity.  The units are very interesting and not what I expected at all.  It was amazing to see how fancy a house you can put on a mobile home frame.  The sales staff are not pushy and were very pleasant (nice clean restroom too).  Worth the stop - I think they have factory tours that might be fun too.
