Update they did fix my brother's grave and planet new grass and they finally turn the water back on. But it still looks horrible out there. place had made me promises for 15 months my brother johnny Parker died Nov 17 2016, the grave is not level they promise me to fix it, but they never have. I had to plant grass and come this spring I will have to go out there and fix his grave. My dad. C w Parker died Dec 29 2017 and I was out there about 3 weeks later and fell in the grave up to my knee, they did fix it but I have had to put dirt in place that had still caving in. Please do not bury your family out there. They have the water turned off I have to bring my own water from home to water his grave. The fire ants are everywhere my mother has to come out there and treat them. There is a old pine tree right beside my brothers grave we asked them to please clean up the pine straw and they did not do it, a month later my mother and I was out there doing it our self. My husband and I are disabled and we have to do all of this by our self with no help from them. They have promised us and promised us and promised us and all they do is lie. I have picture of everything I have said going back 15 months, I take pictures every Thursday or Friday that I go. I repeat do not bury your family out here unless you're willing to take care of the plot yourself

In the last several months, I have been directly and indirectly involved in the planning of services and burials at Parkhill Cemetery and Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA. For many years my family used Striffler-Hamby and Parkhill exclusively and the service was great. I have even even been a part of the planning of two service since dignity took over and those were good experiences. However, in the planning of and involvement of the last three services and in talking with numerous others who have had the misfortune of choosing Parkhill and Striffler-Hamby they have all been very bad experiences. In fact, I would consider the most recent interaction with Mark to be traumatic. No doubt, the burial business has been about profit since its inception and that is ok. However, in the past Striffler-Hamby and Parkhill at least did a good job of expressing condolences, being empathetic and making the transaction feel as pleasant as such a time like that can be. However, these last transactions have been very much like a used car dealership transaction in fact, I wonder if Mark missed his calling, I think he would be much better suited for used car sales.. The employees were rude, uncaring, and seem to go out of their way to find problems rather than solve them. Unfortunately many, myself included have already purchased burial plots at Parkhill and have little option put to use them. However, when it come to mortuary arrangements. I HIGHLY recommend McMullin Funeral Home. With our most recent experience they went above and beyond to meet any needs and request and did an excellent job of showing empathy. At no point during the process with McMullin were things strained, but with Mark at Parkhill, we constantly felt like we were haggling over the price of a used Buick. The entire process was antagonistic. We were forced to interact with Parkhill because the loved one had purchased a plot at Parkhill. The "salesmen" dressed, and played the part of a used care salesman and it was a dreadful experience. If you don't already own a plot at Parkhill, consider trying elsewhere and if you do own a plot at Parkhill, please warn your loved ones that they are in for an excruciating experience at one of their most vulnerable times. Sadly this sentiment has been expressed by AT LEAST 5 families that I am personally connected with in Columbus in the last 18 months with Striffler-Hamby and especially Parkhill.
