I love going to this office since I don’t have to have an appointment. I really have to wait very long. I went there with a bad migraine and the receptionist checking me in was so friendly and empathetic, she already help me feel a little better. The nurse and doctor were also very calm and caring.

Cory Hall, PA and the entire team at the Mechanicsville location provided excellent and efficient care. Mr. Hall thoroughly explained my back pain by drawing pictures and involved me in the treatment options and decisions. 

I had a scheduled appointment at my regular primary care office (for an unrelated prescription refill) the following day and the service was atrocious. I waited for an hour and a half to see a nurse practitioner before giving up and leaving. Because of the timing of the appointment and the terrible wait-time, I ended up missing a half day of work for no reason. 

I will continue to use Patient First as much as possible for my health care needs. Kudos to your Mechanicsville team!

This place is a joke. They act as people's primary doctors (in addition to urgent care) but they don't prescribe controlled substances anymore because they are afraid of retribution from the Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program. This means doctors prescribe fewer types of medications than a nurse practitioner, physicians assistant, naturopaths, podiatrists, dentists, etc... that must be pretty emasculating (and I mean that in gender-neutral disempowerment kind of way). Patient First needs to be stripped of its license to treat people as a family doctor if their policies prevent them from providing the same services that a family doctor prescribes so I'll be writing the board of medicine. Hopefully this means fewer doctors and more nurses, which is the appropriate level of staff needed for the work they can actually perform.

I think there was a mixup as to whether I needed x-rays or not when I went in - but they finally came to get me and take a few of my knee and discovered I have a possible torn ACL to my right knee. Doctor took very good care of me, was very gentle with her examination (which I appreciated) and the staff was super friendly. Will definitely be returning in the future as needed!

DR. Cory is smart.. kind and truly cares about his patients. It's people like him that make me come back. I always call so i can see him. He is more my family's primary care.. From broken elbows.. ribs... stiches... lancing of growths..
 DR Cory has empathy and always follows up.....
