There is indeed a very large parking lot at the Atlanta Amtrak station, but it is not in front of the building (that lot is tiny and intended for taxis and drop off only). Madison Warren-Coombs obviously missed the directional signs for the parking lot, which is easy to do because the station is located at a very busy intersection.The Amtrak parking lot is across the street just behind the station. Beautiful building.

Long ago was an auxiliary station, now the only Amtrak station, get there early, take the peach Marta bus as there is no parking...get the bus at arts center, better to kiss-ride there, too! Lotsa luggage, bring a friend to the station, that's what friends are for!

Just a tip: Amtrak raises its prices (in my case by $20) when you view an itinerary on their website and later come back to buy it. I solved this issue by having a friend put in the same itinerary on another computer (and voila, it was $20 cheaper). It also worked to put my browser in incognito mode. I know that airlines do this, too. Don't get tricked!
