We take all 5 of our children here. The atmosphere is well thought out to ease the minds of the little ones. Sure there are long wait periods at times, but we expect that in an unpredictable profession like this. Sometimes we take more time than others with the Doctor, so I would hope others would understand how the inner workings go sometimes. Staff has always been pleasant and I have always been good to them too. Tough crowd on the reviews. Dont believe all of them.

Love the staff, always friendly and helpful. We see one doctor usually, Megan Heitzman, and we love her too! Although, they all are wonderful! I'm always late to everything so the wait time for my family is to be expected when I'm the one running behind. We live in Lancaster and choose to drive to Pickerington just for a 30 minute appointment. They are great! I'd recommend them to even my dearest friends and family!

Wow. So much to review. Apologies if this is TLDR, but read on for an overview of our recent experience: 1. Arrival to check-in window - staffer told me she would be with me in a minute. You see, she was cleaning a bottle of hand sanitizer and that activity was way more important than immediately welcoming/assisting me. I waited. I waited some more. I moved to another window. 2. The staff does not dress professionally. There does not seem to be a medical office dress code. Some wear random scrubs. One staffer wore a superman tee shirt . An examination "room helper" (um...what is that position and what is the professional training?), a staff person who looked all of 18 years old, wore clothing worthy of a skater dude. Maybe the thought is to appear less intimidating to children? I found it sloppy. 3. After a nurse and her 'room helper' performed the usual height/weight/blood pressure/heart rate/ activities, we were told that the doctor would "be in right away." However, 45 minutes deep into our appointment time, there was still no sign of the doctor. With no further communication from anyone, and the time advancing, I walked out of the examination room and inquired on the doctor's ETA. I was told that he was currently with a patient, and that there were two other patients ahead of us. (!!!) So, finishing up with current patient, plus properly seeing two other patients - I was estimating additional wait time of 40-50 minutes, easily. And then there was the time needed to manage our visit, which included vaccines - so, another 30 or so minutes. Yeah. We didn't have that kind of time. We left. And we will not be back. So frustrating. Communication? Time management? Both are lacking at this practice. I did ask to speak with an office manager. I wasn't able to, naturally. So, I simply informed another staffer of my issues, for whatever that was worth. Probably not much. Note: Last year's annual visit ended the same way. While we were able to see the doctor within a normal time frame, strangely, I was told that a cholesterol screen was usually performed at my sons' age. Random and weird - but i went with it. However, after the doctor left the room - no one ever returned to perform the screen, or to communicate why they had not returned to perform the screen. After waiting an additional 25 minutes for said the screen - we left. Ugh. This place.

I was told to register online, I tried but there wasn't any forms on my portal. I showed up and they gave me the tablet which stopped working, they gave me a new one and that one stopped working. There was whispering right in front of me because I was paying out of pocket. I just started a new job 2 days ago and the insurance wouldn't be in effect until the next pay period, why is that such a big deal?! So rude and snotty!

Too busy to make patients feel at ease. I love Dr. Heitzman and hate to leave her practice but the nurses/assistants, front desk staff, and hold times on the phones are too many reasons to leave in my opinion. The front desk is a cold and uncomfortable place. Its as if I walk in and interrupt some big important work the staff seems to always be working on and piss them all off just by my prescence. The nursing staff are so busy they rush to get you in and out to the dismay of nervous children. I need a practice that actually caters to children, not the almighty dollar. I wish they had turned me away when I chose them 2 years ago instead of accepting any patient that steps on the property. I wouldnt reccomend this practice to any parent I cared about.
