Horrible experience - felt ripped off. My home warranty company sent Pendyk to check my hot water heater, which they determined needed to be replaced. In addition to charging the standard $75 for the service call to fix any problems, Pendyk charged another $125 just to connect the replacement unit. Does installation not include connection? They were totally misleading upfront, implying that pipes would need to be re-routed; however, they used flex pipe (not copper), which required nothing additional to connect the new unit. In fact, flex pipe made it easier for them. Pendyk seems to prey on the uninformed in desperate situations - not knowing what is involved with installation after being without hot water for a few days. To make matters worse, the left the job with the new unit not working, saying I needed an electrician, which makes me wonder if replacement was even necessary.
