The waitress Maryanne is EXCELLENT. First time I been there in years. Maryanne says she's been there for 30 years and she is by far THE BEST Server/Waitress I have had in a very long time. Friendly, Courteous, Welcoming. I went with my sister and brother and we all agree she is The Best. Maryanne thank you for making my experience a memorable one. I will be back asking for you 😆

WORST SERVICE EVER!! Waitress was rude, waited more than an hour for our food, when brought out it was wrong. Charged items on our bill that nobody even ordered. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. Nothing about this place was good. She never asked if the bill was separate. She made US figure out OUR TOTALS because apparently they couldn’t do it themselves. The lady at the register stood there and watched us, not helping or anything. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE! NEVER EVER coming back.

What more can I say...awesome food and service. Had the steak and eggs with a bloody mary, everything was just done REALLY nice. A perfectly cooked medium and everything else that came to the table was fantastic. I wanted something the locals went to and this was that place! Looking forward to going back to Philly and will be revisiting this diner once again when I'm there.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, my wife and I were up from Florida to avoid "Irma!" We decided to have a nice breakfast today at the famous Penrose Diner, in business for the past 60 years. It is a special landmark in South Philly. We both had the French Toast with bacon. It was delicious! We were seated immediately and our Server, Maryann, was as nice as she could be. We also had a few laughs. So, when in Philly, come to Penrose Diner for great food and supreme customer service. 5 star all the way!

I've been going here for over 7 years and I must admit this place is amazing. Over time, they have dropped many of their meals and recipes but the food they still do offer is amazing. The waiters and staff are very nice and welcoming. Overall, I would most definitely recommend this restaurant.
