We walked into this Southfield location expecting to open up a multiple accounts and transfer are banking for our business and soon our whole family. We're new to Detroit, and I've noticed the heightened security at banks, which is off-putting to say the least, but understandable. 

This credit union took it to a level I hadn't seen since jail. I was in jail for a period of time, and as you can imagine, it's not something I wish to relive every time I walk into my credit union. 

We were greeted with what felt like immediate suspicion, like, "What are you doing here?" as opposed to, "What can we help you with?" I don't remember what was said, but that was the feeling. The security doors that leave you in a tight windowed box until they buzz you in didn't help, and then the first thing you see is a security guard who wants to know what you're doing here.

We were told to sign in. 

We were then told told to sit and wait. 

There was a wall of doors that went to small rooms.

After a seven minute wait, one of the two at the desk (the person not in guard uniform) said, "she will see you in room 7 now. We stoop up, and started walking to room seven, when I wondered to myself why the person couldn't come out and greet us like in other banks I'd been to. The whole thing felt so cold, like we were sheep and it was our turn to be slaughtered. Actually, again, it felt like jail, as if I were waiting to visit my attorney. I stopped and said, "I really don't like the way this feels." My wife said she agreed, and was relieved that I did not want to  bank here. I turned to the men at the desk and said, "Sorry guys, but this whole set up you have here feels like jail, and I don't want to do business at a place like this."

They both smirked at me and looked at me like I was stupid. 

When we walked out, into another waiting windowed box before we could exit, it felt like it took a bit longer than it should have for them to buzz us out. 

I've clearly got some issues with authority, and maybe some jail PTSD, and I am not a very patient person, but this whole set up didn't feel "People Driven." There was no warmth in the building, not in the people working there, and not in the customers either. It is a miserable place and they will not see our business.

Great service! I love that there is a drive thru and atm! The center is on a nice campus-like environment that is constantly populated and frequented by customers. The staffing always meets customer flow/traffic. I especially like that they give suckers to customer, ink pens, calendars, and look you eye to eye when you are a "walk in" and have privacy booths for transactions handled outside of the teller. It is also a credit union family service center!

I've been with people trust/ people driven for 17 years.. I'm pleased.

Been with them for 3 years tried to receive a loan of 1000 and was denied for length of employment. Just a year ago I had a loan for 1300 it they was fine with that. Glad to have michigan first credit union they helped me out when I just found a new job

I've been with this location more than 10yrs, I've always had great service with no problems.
