My family and I had a downright awful experience with Perfect Plumbing. I think trust and integrity are two of the most important traits of a company. Perfect Plumbing would appear to be aligned with that, as part of their website states the following, “You'll know the full cost of our work BEFORE we start. At Perfect Plumbing we believe in giving our customers complete control - that's why there are no hidden costs or added extras, just fair, transparent honesty in everything we do.” I can absolutely say that this statement is completely false and hypocritical, as you will note in my experience below: The reason we had requested plumbing service was for installation of a water line hook-up to our refrigerator. I had selected Perfect Plumbing based on their Google ad, which highlighted $50 off service when an online code was used. We called Perfect Plumbing and were informed we would receive the discount. We scheduled a plumber to come to our house on the very next Friday afternoon, which was four days from the time of initially calling. When Friday came around, we were informed by the work scheduler that the plumber might not make it to our house that day due to being tied up at another job. I explained my frustration in that we had scheduled this service four days in advance, specifically because Fridays are the only days that work for me, and the scheduler apologized but explained there was not much she could do at this point. I should have just decided to completely cancel then; however, I asked if she was sure there was nothing else that could be done, and the scheduler called the plumber to have him stop by at the very end of his shift, with the potential to work after-hours. When the plumber arrived, he was clearly agitated that he had to make this stop to our house. He looked at our kitchen setup, explained he didn’t have the right parts for the job and would have to come back at a later date to do the actual work (after also complaining about how far away he lived from the job). He went back to his truck, wrote up a quote, and came back inside. The quote he provided us for installation of a refrigerator water line was $1,170, which was for simply installing and routing pipe from our sink to our refrigerator. With everything I have read online, this work should cost AT MOST $500 (but more typically $250 to $300). I explained that it didn’t make sense for us to pay for that when we could just buy a new fridge that doesn’t have an ice maker for significantly cheaper (since we only wanted to install this water-line to increase the sellability of the house). The plumber agreed with my reasoning but did not offer a cheaper price. Instead, he demanded $49 for being dispatched to our house (which was all of a 10 minute visit). I made reference to the $50 off service, but I was informed that the coupon only counts if an actual “service” is performed. At that point, I realized he was price gouging me with the excessively high installation cost, since he knew full well I wouldn’t accept that and he could just collect on the dispatching fee. I paid him just to get him out of my house and avoid a potentially nasty confrontation. However, I was fuming afterwards, feeling like this company and plumber had completely taken advantage of me. I will never call Perfect Plumbing again because of this experience, and I will most likely never work with plumbers that charge a “dispatching fee” that can be used to gouge customers for money when the plumbers don’t want to do a specific job but can at least still profit from a 10 minute visit. I sincerely hope this review reaches a significant number of other potential customers prior to them running into similar awful and gut-wrenching experience.
