I recently decided to start up an aquarium, and I really didn't have a lot of prior knowledge other than some information gleaned from the internet. However, my dad and I decided to start by buying a few fish from this Petco. We were immediately met by Mike, one of the managers, and he went above and beyond in giving advice and explaining every question we had. You could absolutely tell he cared about his job as well as the fish. Furthermore, he was friendly, polite, and obviously knowledgeable. In fact, he made sure that his advice was not centered around making quick money off of us, and instead, he conveyed exactly how to set up a new aquarium in the most correct manner possible. His interest was centered on not only the customer but also the care of the fish. This is exactly how business should be done, and they certainly have repeat customers in us.

Great people and great service.  They always have exactly what we need for our 4 cats.  Great selection of adaptable cats and kittens too.

Avoid their grooming department. To begin with, the lady drug my dog behind the counter by a slip leash around his neck. I know this is probably how they train, but that is unsafe for an animal and definitely not something to show a customer. After receiving my dog, it looked like he received NO haircut at all. What did I pay for, a three hour daycare? Lastly, after examining my dog's nails, ALL were damaged. Two were cracked so bad he would jerk away when you touched them. The others were filed so terribly there was blood showing under them.

Walked into the store with my granddaughter this afternoon. She loves to visit the animals.
The store smelled awful!!!
Like the cages and the litter boxes had not been changed for days.

I approached one if the employees, who told me :well, you ARE in  pet store!

Well, sorry fellow. But it doesn't have to smell like urine so bad your eyes sting!

We went to the back of the store to see the fish and when we left the store, it smelled like they sprayed some febreze .

I think cleaning the litter boxes would have been a better idea.

Improperly housing their reptiles, brought my concerns to management and was rudely dismissed.
