This place became my new favorite spot for Taiwanese food, the pork rice is so tasty. And the crispy chicken is very good too.Food: 5/5
Food: I used to come here all the time and frequently ordered the chicken rice not the special chicken rice, just the regular. And it used to be pretty good. This was my first time ordering the chicken over rice dish again in years and it was overcooked and SO salty. Sure the portions are huge, but it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Based on my most recent order, the taste was 2 stars, but considering the other 209 times I've been here on average the food is 4 stars, if you order the right dish. Service: Simple. Picking-up and dining elsewhere is the way to go. Parking: Plenty. Other: It's nice that their specials come with a complimentary classic boba milk tea when paying in cash. They take Venmo too.
Came here for Fan Tuan at 3pm but please note the kitchen is closed from 2-5pm, while baked foods are available to purchased in the front. Luckily they had 2 fan tuan left and I bought them to go. It was really delicious! Would love to come back here on Saturday morning for Taiwanese breakfast from 9-12. Update: I returned for Taiwanese breakfast. Omg there is so much yelling between the staff that it was unbearable to eat. Not a very pleasant experience to dine in.
Neighborhood diner serving Chinese/taiwanese breakfast items on the weekends. The rice roll is the best dish, others are ok. I would stick with to-going the rice rolls in the next next visit. The prices are really good though, they reflect the local neighborhoody vibe.
Order a take away Taiwanese pork belly bento. The size is huge, very fulfilling, comes with complementary fried egg and veggies as well as a separate bowl of soup. Hidden gem you all need to check it out.Food: 5/5
Came for lunch and while the staff were nice the food sadly was not. We ordered the lunch rice special, a 3 meat rice with a boba. It tasted like they bought a frozen stir fry mix and smothered it in a Hoisin/Teriyaki premade mix and just dumped it on top of mushy rice. I literally picked out the meat and left the rest. When we went to pay they said the price was only for cash even though this is not indicated anywhere, and that we would have to pay “full price” for boba, that says it’s included, if we paid by card. So thats weird. The baked goods at the door looked nice but can’t imagine myself ever going back after that pretty much disgusting food.
Since this place only has Taiwanese breakfast on Saturdays my husband and I decided to try it. The southbay is sadly lacking in Taiwanese breakfast restaurants. The restaurant looks pretty old and very homey. The place is run by a family. We got the fantuan, the beef sandwich, a Chinese donut and 2 cold sweet soy milk drinks. I really like how they cut the fan Tuan and sandwich in half for us to share. I liked the fan Tuan more then the sandwich. The cruller didn’t seem that fresh but it was still not bad and the soy milk was delicious. I would probably like it more if they had radish cake. But Overall not bad and the prices are comparable to the 626.
Highly recommend the Saturday breakfast from 9am-12pm. All Taiwanese style and can’t find anything similar in South Bay.Food: 5/5
This place has pastries. Tried both the pumpkin and red bean with mochi pastries. The pumpkin was fresh made, not canned and not like pumpkin pie but like kombucha--a light sweetness. The red bean with mochi filling was very sweet, in a good way, with a wonderful, glutinous mouthfeel. Also came for their thick and thin green onion pancakes. Both are good--the thin ones are more about the crispy texture, the thick ones are more about the green onions flavor. The show stoppers were the pork belly bun and their green leek pastry which was a giant empanada stuffed with green onions, vermicelli, egg, and ground meat. Yum!
Awesome staff and food as well! Free Boba every time you pay cash! Great!Food: 5/5
