The base collection of petrified wood donated by Howard and Harvey Kenfield is housed in the newly dedicated Petrified Wood Gallery located on the historic Lincoln Highway in Ogallala, Nebraska.
World class collection of petrified wood specimans from 28 of the 31 forests plus unique art work including petrified wood music boxes, three dimensional pictures, birds, plants, geodes and gemstone butterflies, eggs, spheres and toad stools. The gallery is adorned with bronze sculptures and original pieces of art displayed by guest artists.
Native American artifacts locally found and artwork include a fine arrowhead collection and a variety of guest displays.
The entire petrified wood collection was generously donated to the local community by the Kenfield brothers, Harvey and Howard. To provide continuing support for the exhibit a non-profit corporation was established, “Friends of the Kenfield Gallery”. The mission of the “Friends” is to preserve and showcase the artwork of Harvey and Howard Kenfield and acquired Native American artifacts while fostering interest in the fine arts in our area.
