After deciding my 12 year old daughter was responsible enough to own a cat, we drove 20 minutes to look at the adoptive cats on display. She selected two she wanted to look at more closely, so we approached two female employees who were engaged in conversation and interrupted, asking if we could see the kittens in person. After being told I would have to fill out the 3 or 4 page adoptive papers BEFORE we could see the cats "to know that we were serious about actually buying one", we left the store and will never return. If this is indeed store policy, it is a public relations fiasco; once we buy our family pets, I sure do not want to shop there.

When you are told "sorry, you cant hold this animal unless you intend to buy it." - despite pleading to the employee, yet still turned down. That to me is enough to never go there again. I went to two other pet stores in Lexington. Petoco and Pet Supermarket by cookout. BOTH of those other stores were friendly and kind. Neither of those had an issue with allowing a customer to HOLD a pet they did not intend to buy. Customer service is #1 - Its not always about the sale. If you want to grab some cat food or a can of dog food, this should suffice. If you want to enjoy the store with your kids - dont waste your time. Petco or Pet Supermarket is a much better option.

Always find interesting people here, they have most everything we need for our indoor fish, my dog, and our outdoor fish pond. Good staff in fish department, very helpful.

I usually don't write reviews, but I had to give one of the employees there some props. Luke is always very helpful when I come in! He's usually ALWAYS there, and is always working extremely hard when I see him. He's always attentive to my needs and very helpful. I can tell he cares about the animals, and can count on him to be well educated on the products/animals he's selling! :) I gave the store a 3 star only because the animals are not in the best of shape, but that's common for pet stores :)
