So now have had the opportunity to visit and meet with the official, the English speaking one I mean, who offered to lend me his ear ... and it likely was an excruciating task for him ... because, well, I talk a lot. He'd agree. Anyway, truly this was an enlightened place, truly ... at least when I visited. I mean it was yesterday, and a big holiday, a new year's eve of sorts. That's what I meant, of course, by being an enlighted place that day ... of course. Not because of me walking in ... that would just be my ego. Anyway, I'm not much for beautiful PHYSICAL things, and they do have a lot of pretty colors and gold colored trinkets and such at this place, things that have great meanings .... and a big beautiful statue too ... but I also like to look past the physical things to see and understand the real beauty of a place ... and it was clear ... from the moment Lilli answered the door ... it's the people there that make this place beautiful ... I wholeheartedly recommend this place as a wonderful place to visit, when open and when you can, if only to sit in the large room silently by yourself for a while. A wonderful experience I did have, just after doing this myself, while waiting for Larry. And then the meeting with Larry was even better too ... yep, don't quite know how to explain it with words, but a truly magical place it is indeed. Actually, if possible, I'd give this 5 stars and more, five stars that appear as burning suns, just like on those truffles they sell in Amsterdam, the ones with 5 burning suns on them, like pajateros or something ... but that was years and years ago. Just thought the two ratings somehow were alike ... at least in terms of enlightenment received. And gosh, this place in Anderson is a LOT CLOSER than Amsterdam. Safer too prolly. So if you're looking for enlightenment, no need to travel so far, if you're now in Indiana that is ... you can just go to Anderson. Really. That simple. PAST COMMENT BELOW Currently I have no review to give, just a message to pass. Into hoagland did arrive ... A monkey carrying a great message of importance did arrive into the foreign tribe with the message. The monkey understood this tribe to be nearly blind and so used simple vibrations to get their attention. The foreign tribe recognized the vibrations and were stunned and frightened and instead of listening to the message ran off the foreign monkey. The monkey is a man coming into other men, who are so blind and yet so simple, they have even in their blindness on the spot, banned simple monkey language. Awake to truth ... INTO YOUR TEMPLE DID ARRIVE ... a monkey with message of great important. And so was ejected this monkey.  Let truth be spoken. Satnam.

This place is simply amazing. Everyone here makes me feel like family. The monk is fun and friendly, the temple is beautiful, and the lunch is fantastic. This is a great place to grow in your understanding of the Buddhist teachings or gain solace for meditation. They are very welcoming of new people, so don't be afraid!

I not only attended the grand opening on the 10th of Sept 2016 but, I've been going pretty much on a regular basis. I am so glad to see and know that the Dharma is spreading in throughout Anderson. The sangha is very nice, warm and sincere. The hospitality is nothing short of amazing! Please if you have a seeking mind or just curious, please take a moment out of your day and go and check it out! Namo A DI DA PHAT

Vietnamese Buddhist Temple. Welcome everyone from all walks of life regardless of your background, ethnicity, faith, social economics, and from near or far away. Place of refuge & seek the true understanding of the noble path toward self-enlightenment. Weekly worship services include meditation, free vegetarian meals, Vietnamese cultural traditions, building moral characters/self-esteem/confidence, and self-defense for the children via ancient martial arts training. Mon – Sat : 10 AM – 4 PM (by appointment to facilitate any translation). Sun: 10 AM – 4 PM (Dharma Talk; Mindfulness Meditation; Sutras Chanting; Free Vegetarian Meal); Program for Children: 10–Noon (e.g,. Vietnamese Language Class, and 1-3PM (Martial Arts Training & Children Activities): Simultaneous audio translation services available from Vietnamese to English.
