Visited on the free admission day, won't go back on this day. It was a "zoo" for sure, no pun intended. I've never been here and we will be going back. But we will def go back and pay admission to see if it's less of a madhouse. Parking was virtually impossible, shoulder to shoulder on the walking paths, could barely get through the aquarium. But the park itself was pretty awesome. 5 stars on our next visit I'm sure. And my daughter got to see an elephant up close (think it was $20, but you got pictures next to it and got to pet it, pretty cool experience for her).

This is a wonderful zoo. The collection is superb and the care given to the animal specimens is beyond any I've seen elsewhere. Get there near closing and go to the aquarium. Watching the keeper feed the large fish in the downstairs aquarium is the most amazing thing. It demonstrates how intelligent these animals are. A must see. Plus the otters are so fun to watch and if you're lucky they'll interact with you. Two thumbs up. Everyone in your family will love it.

Our family loves the zoo! We go more times than we can count a year. Always get a yearly pass saves money if you plan on going multiple times. They have been building on to the zoo the past couple years and it actually takes awhile to get through it all now! Great place for the kids

We love the Zoo. We do wish it was bigger. After living in Columbus for 3 years and then coming back home to Pittsburgh, the kids were a little let down with the amount of animals to see. I will say - the hills are great especially if you want to get a workout in as you sightsee. All in all, we typically have a good experience while we're there. We do pack lunches to avoid the super high concession prices; things add up quickly with 4 munchkins in tow :).

The zoo here was very nice and had a lot of animals on exhibit to see. However the aquarium is what really makes the trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium worth it. They had many wonderful sea creatures to look see. It is well worth the trip, even if you have to drive a couple hours away to visit.
