Plantation Island is fantastic for families, its right on the beach with clean pools and my favorite ...the hot tubs.The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. BOB at the front desk is AWESOME! Now the rooms are not spacious but adequate and clean. Some rooms have really nice balconies with a view of the ocean.Decent kitchenette if you plan on cooking with a nice big refrigerator.They also have fun family activities that are planned throughout the day for the whole family,some are free others are just a small fee.

Plantation Island is the perfect place for a beach getaway. The rooms are clean, and the AC works amazingly well! The two pools ensure there's always a peacefully spot away from other guests.

Horrible and they have ROACHES! This is a VERY TERRIBLE HORRIBLE place to stay. In fact, i was so put off when we first arrived (around 2230 the night we arrived), that i immediately booked a Marriott in Daytona. The only reason we stayed was the view I saw the next morning--the ocean (the convenience of getting to the beach). 
The rooms are ridiculously outdated and poorly maintained. Cracked and chipped tiles on the floor in the kitchenette, kicked in and cracked cabinetry, scuffed mirrors, dingy, old couch from the mid 80s--it's bad. 
The final straw were the roaches we saw on 3 different occasions over a 12 hour span. We checked out at 10 pm, meticulously shook out everythibg while we packed, and checked into another hotel. 
Plantation Island needs to close shop until they clean up their act.
