I asked for a breast lift and was given a stomach sculpting surgery I never asked for that she learned the day befor in a seminar. Stay away from this Dr. Frankenstein. She had me sign the papers in the recovery room. I have spent their last 16 years basically without much of a life... No one should get to do that to another person without their consent. Stick up for yourselves... Doctor of Darkness...

I went to Dr.Shafer about a year ago not sure what I was expecting as I was overweight but wanted my arms reduced. I was afraid that her first comment was going to be well you need to lose weight. I was so wrong she was amazing and so caring. My upper arms were almost deformed in my thoughts as it looked like I had two boobs on each arm. There was a dent and 2 huge bulbous boobs it was awful. I am not a small woman nor am I huge. I can wear a 1X very comfortably but had to buy a 4 or 5 X just for my arms. They were an embarrassment to me. Dr. Shafer was so caring and assured me she could help. And help she did. My arms are now healed and I love them. They are not real thin but I can now wear an XLarge top. I have to say my life has changed so much. I am not hiding my arms. I just want to say if you are unsure about what you want, go talk to her. You don't have to to be a size 8 you just have to be happy with your body and I am now happy. Definitely worth the trip. So glad i went.... Barb Kiernan

I recently had Dr. Shafer preform breast reduction surgery on myself and I can not say enough wonderful things about her and the entire office staff!! I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Shafer is a highly respected surgeon among peers and the general public. Now, as a patient of Dr. Shafer, I can personally attest to her expertise as a surgeon and as a genuinely compassionate provider of care. During my first appointment for a consultation, I felt that Dr. Shafer explained options and the procedure in depth. She carefully and thoroughly addressed all of my questions in a completely unhurried manner(something that can unfortunately be quite rare nowadays in the medical field). The results from my surgery far exceeded that which I thought was possible. As a result, I now have a renewed sense of positive self esteem and well being. Because the change is subtle, my friends and family who are unaware of the surgery have commented on how well I am looking.There have been no questions asked as to how this positive change in my appearance came about. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr.Shafer to others. On one final note, I must add that Dr. Shafer's medical and general office staff are extremely professional and personable.

Not a competitor, a real former patient. Had surgery 2 years ago for a ruptured implant, and a tummy tuck. Made one breast obviously larger than the other. Tightened right side of stomach more then left which now protrudes. She said my scar would be thin, white and flat by 2 years. over 2 years it's still brownish, bumpy and not flat. I still have pain around the belly button. She said she would do a scar revision for free if I still wasn't happy. called in for that appointment there was now $100.00 just to have her look at the botched scar and now denies saying she would do it for free. Do not go under the knife with this woman she is horrible. Insurance said they would pay for my procedure now and after 3 weeks she is still refusing to send in codes to insurance company so I can get my refund and go to another surgeon to fix her botched mess!!
