Pocatello KOA Journey

Story

The quiet Pocatello KOA is surrounded by mountains-perfect for skiing and snowmobiling in winter and rock climbing and hiking the rest of the year. Then soak your aching muscles in Idaho's world-famous Lava Hot Springs. Pocatello's Ross Park features a pool and sporting activities and hosts the Pocatello Zoo, Bannock County Historical Museum and a full-scale replica of an 1800s fur-trading post. Visit Idaho State University and the Museum of Natural History on campus. Experience the amazing volcanic activity of yesterday at Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve-a must-see attraction! KOA offers grassy, shaded tent sites with fire pits and up to 82-foot-long, extra-wide pull thrus. Or stay in a Cabin. Now available: year-round monthly sites. Breakfast, ice cream and snow cones served May-Sept. This is a great overnight stop on your way to Yellowstone NP, only 2 1/2 hours from Jackson Hole, WY.

Good location and friendly staff, I'd love to give them a better review, HOWEVER, our tent site was right along a road with nothing but a chain link fence between it and it was SO NOISY. Sleeping was nearly impossible as loud trucks went up and down the road what seemed like all night. The site was also pretty small. My biggest complaint though is simply the price we paid compared to amenities available. Our previous KOA stay to this we had a double site, a pool, a putt-putt course, huge playground, and three times the bath house space and it was a few dollars CHEAPER than this KOA with only the single space and a small playground. We felt really annoyed at the price we paid, and that's why we would not reccomend this KOA nor stay here again.

It's a nice place but it's not very quiet. The road by our site was very busy and we were tent camping with dogs. So it made for a long night. The showers and facilities are very nice though and very well maintained. This was my first time staying at a koa and I will try some others in the future.

More like 3.5. Tight squeeze in some places, and low branches. Weird spaces. Tonight mine is IN one of the roads. Not next to it, in it. But nice location overall. Dog Walk area is small, but secure, with grass and a shaded human area.

Very nice and clean! We enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again. I would give a 5 if they had a pool.

We stayed at this KOA just for 1evening. They were completely booked & tried to send us on our way but the host ( Mona) rearranged the RV line-up and squeezed us in. They were extremely informative about the area. Clean and quiet
