Story

Take a seat near the jukebox and listen to songs that you grew up with, your parents danced to, or simply have heard on the oldie's station time and time again. Walking through the doors of the Poky Dot brings a familiar warmth to those who remember yesteryear, and to those who have only heard about it. We want you to enjoy every aspect of your meal. For once take the time to chat with your family over our famed suppers, or take your special someone to share a malt shake. Not bad, but not worth the effort. You will probably come out ahead getting a reservation. The food is reasonably priced, but, nothing special. The icecream is the real attraction.... the stuff children's dreams are made of. Overall, I'd say that if you have kids you want to treat for a special occasion, it is a must. If you are looking for a good lunch or dinner look elsewhere. All that said, we went for my 4 year old niece's birthday..... It sent her over the moon. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make it special for the birthday girl and her sister.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. The Poky Dot was great! They created a special menu just for our guests which allowed the food to come out much quicker than if they ordered off the regular menu. The staff was friendly and efficient. The weather was horrible that day and they still made the event fun and enjoyable. It appeared that their banquet room was under construction at the time, but it did not interfere with our event. Thank you Poky Dot for a memorable occasion!

Great food. The chili had a wonderful spice to it that I rarely find in other restaurants. The wait was long, but that was due to a crazy large crowd, and the staff was very accommodating and and worked to get people in as fast as possible (without rushing those already seated.) Very professional staff, even when dealing with a few extremely rude customers yelling and cursing at them. A bit on the pricy side, so a good place to go once in a while as a special treat. The specialty milkshakes are well worth the price though, as they are about 2 to 3 normal servings worth. Great atmosphere with adorable decorations and perfect music selection for the general 50s diner feel. Overall, a very enjoyable experience

Love the atmosphere and music! Desserts are incredible!! Prices are a little high, worth it for some things but not others. Chili is awesome, grilled cheese was not. Meatloaf was okay. App platter was good and nice size. Staff were very friendly, good service. Cool and sturdy take out bags. Breakfast is served all day; definately try the cheesecakes!! Will return : )

Despite being a crazily busy Friday night, we were treated with the utmost courtesy. During our half hour wait to be seated (no reservation, my fault), we observed the staff working at break-neck speed seamlessly and with good cheer. Not a grumpy face or attitude from a single person, staff or otherwise. The food and waitress was great. I can't tell you the last time I had so much fun going out to eat. Thank you all for your uplifting attitudes. You made our night! Only four stars, as dinner was a little too pricey for the quality.
