Story

The Polk City Community Library's Facebook page is intended to provide another resource where Library information can be distributed. Please visit Polk City Community Library's official website at www. polkcitycommunitylibrary.org for all information concerning Library services.

This Facebook page is moderated and maintained by the staff of the Polk City Community Library and by the City of Polk City's Technology Department in order to ensure that the content posted here is constructive and suitable for all readers. Moderation of this page takes place during the Library's normal operating hours. Posted comments and content must comply with the following regulations:

User Conduct

The Polk City Community Library expects that users will keep all comments civil and will not post any content that falls into any of the following categories:
*Content that is profane, graphic, obscene, abusive, offensive, threatening, or any content intended to defame anyone or any organization.
*Content irrelevant to the topic under discussion.
*Content that is either posted repetitively or duplicated.
*Users are responsible for what they post, their username, and any information provided. Posted content must not breach any law, confidentiality, or copyright.

Topic Guidelines

This page's main purpose is to be an information source that is available to all of Polk City's constituents. Compliance with the following Topic Guidelines is required by any users of this page in addition to the User Conduct regulations above.
*Political statements, petitions, endorsements, or any other political content are not permitted on this page.
*Advertisements, prize contests, giveaways, solicitations, and promotions are strictly prohibited.
*Non-profit organizations recognized by the City of Polk City that exist to directly support Polk City facilities,, functions, operations and personnel are permitted to use this space for fundraising, public awareness and community outreach.
*Personally identifiable information, such as a user’s address, phone number, social security number or other sensitive information cannot be included in posts.
*All content posted will be owned by the user. Do not post copyrighted or trademarked content.

Photo Policy

The Polk City Community Library encourages the sharing of photos on Facebook through the site’s existing social sharing features. The Library also encourages residents to upload their own photos to the Polk City Community Library’s Facebook page to help showcase what is happening in our community.

The Polk City Community Library does NOT permit the reproduction or redistribution of photos (in partial or whole) from its Facebook page for resale, commercial, educational or promotional use.

Content that violates any of the preceding User Conduct or Topic Guidelines will be removed. Violators may be prohibited from future page participation without any further notification from the Polk City Community Library.
