The District Recycling Center is the largest publicly owned and operated facility in the state of Ohio. The district receives recyclables from business and households in Portage and surrounding counties.
It is the mission of the Portage County Solid Waste Management District to provide the highest quality; cost effective and integrated waste management services to the residents and commercial/industrial sectors of Portage County. The District provides ethical environmental leadership and education to equitably promote the public goods through innovative and responsible strategies leading to the management of all waste as a resource.
