As a 40 year resident homeowner in Park Slope, my experience with the Department of Sanitation, has been very positive. I'm a long time self-renovator and, over the years, have been dependent upon the pick up crews to help me with debris.  Today, I had another very heartening and supportive exchange with my regular pick-up crew on Carroll Street.  I had a lot of material to dispose of this morning and I had sorted and packaged the wood and plaster carefully.  They couldn't pick up my debris on the first early round, explaining that the two-section trucks that combine regular debris and compost now had lower capacity for regular household waste than the previous single purpose trucks. They said that I could expect a bulk pick up from another truck in the PM. But, later in the morning, the same crew returned to my house on their way back to their unloading stop and said that they now had room for my disposal needs. We quickly placed the debris in the truck and they headed out.  This was beyond my expectations- and their responsibilities - and I am very pleased with the considerate actions of our crew.  I can't and don't ask for better service from our dedicated DOS workforce.

The garbage and the parking here is terrible, the guys are cool,GUs are really helpful and the bathrooms are so clean I couldn't bring myself to 10-2 for #2

sanitation officers always writing false tickets to fill quotas in the neighborhood. DSNY needs to sanitize all of the corruption in their departments

Won't pick up 20 inch tv
