My wife and I had wanted a good hamburger (we don't eat red meat often, but every now and then we cheat), so instead of trying to find a great burger at a restaurant, she picked up 2 alleged "ground sirloin" patties at Publix, where she does her grocery shopping at the Shops of Ibis on Northlake Blvd. I grilled them. They just didn't smell right while on the grill. What a complete ripoff! It was certainly NOT sirloin. In fact it was the worst ground beef we ever tasted. C A R D B O A R D! This is the second time this has happened in about a year, so it is not one of those "fluke" things. The first time, we let it go, and chalked it up to a butcher that needs glasses. Either Publix is purposely mis-marking the product, or their beef has gone downhill big time. We will never ever buy any meat from this place again. Beware! ...and if you do buy their beef, don't be afraid to bring it to managements attention when you find out its lesser quality than marked. LAST TIME FOR US! . If I could have entered zero stars, I would have.

This Publix is a very convenient place to shop and I've always had good experiences with the staff there. They are friendly and courteous to me when I enter the store as well even if I end up not purchasing anything because I'm window shopping that day. They have amazing subs and a knowledgeable staff when it comes to ingredients in foods. This is especially important to me because I have a little lactose sensitivity.

I live right behind this publix and it's pretty convenient to shop there unless I encounter that one black lady with a missing tooth and super short red hair. On one occasion she was really polite the people in front of me in her line but to me she just glared, and never said a word. On a second occasion she nearly ran me over with carts instead of just letting me through the front door and today she blocked my entrance while glaring at me with the stink eye. Someone needs to train this lady on customer service or just right out fire her. She can't work there if she's gonna be holding grudges for no reason against people.

Shopping at Publix takes an unacceptable amount of time. Whether it is getting a sandwich, meat from the deli, or ANYTHING else, make sure to cancel your plans. I have timed it, an average trip takes 22 minutes to get two items. As another individual wrote--- even if you are the only person in the sub line, it will still take 15-30 minutes. The sub area is always understaffed. The grocery checkout lines always include someone with an excessive amount of coupons, (that are expired or dont work) or they send someone to verify the price. Then after 10 minutes of waiting, I complete my checkout in 1 minute max. Believe me, I do everything I can to avoid this place. REMEMBER, it's not "Publix, where shopping is a pleasure" it's "Publix, where shopping takes FOREVER". And I had plenty of time to write this review, courtesy of the deli area.
