Story

Jay Peak is a mountain located about 5 mi. (8 km) south of the Canada–US border, in Jay and Westfield, Orleans County, Vermont, of which it is the highest point. Most of the mountain is in Jay Peak State Forest. The mountain is named for the town of Jay in which much of the mountain except the peak area is located. The town of Jay, in turn, is named for the First Chief Justice of the United States and local landholder, John Jay. It is part of the northern Green Mountains. The mountain is flanked to the southwest by Big Jay, and to the north by North Jay Peak (3,438 ft / 1,048 m).The mountain is in the watershed of the Missisquoi River, which drains into Lake Champlain, thence into Canada's Richelieu River, the Saint Lawrence River, and into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The south side of the mountain drains into Jay Brook, thence west into the Trout River and the Missisquoi River. The northwest side of the mountain drains into Black Falls Brook, and thence into the Trout River. The north and northeast sides of the mountain drain east into the Jay Branch of the Missisquoi River.

The fact that people are allowed to hold tables all day, despite not sitting at them is frustrating when you spend $50 on lunch and cannot sit down. Don't you have lockers for rent? oh wait you do, why don't these people have to rent them??? My daughter had fun with her friend.

The Pump House is an indoor waterpark that is offered as part of the Jay Peak resort. I guess that after a long day of skiing, spending a couple of hours at the park is a relaxing evening. With that said, the water park does not stand "on its own", especially when compared to other water parks such as Great Wolf Lodge. The park is tiny -- you can walk from one end to the other in about a minute. There are four slides, though two of them are almost identical. None of them were very exciting, not even the "Le Chute" which is supposed to be a star attraction. There's a small area for children, a basketball and climbing wall pool, a surfing attraction, a hot tub, and a river -- that's it. Our family of four got through the whole thing in a few hours. Furthermore, the park staff is non existent. There are life guards, but apart from that finding a park employee is almost impossible. If you have any questions, good luck! The front desk has one person, she is surrounded by ten customers, and just getting towels took us ten minutes. Between the small size and unfriendly atmosphere, I cannot recommend the Pump House water park.

Good place to bring your kids would have given it 5 stars if it were not for the creepy bugs crawling in and out of the floor drains in the woman's bathroom

Nice place, but went during spring break so it was more than packed. For canadian bring your canadian money and passport to pay, they offer par pricefor entry and locker, not for restaurant. The snack bar is nice and surprised not to be too overpriced as it is usually at Ski Station.

Huuuge Waterpark! Always crowded. Especially if you are hoping to find a seat. But it's a lot of fun and a real vacation saver when the outdoors don't cooperate due to weather
