Hot pot was great. Decent selection. Service was fast, perhaps too quick to clear dishes to get us out. Server was having a bad day, but I imagine on most days service would be fine. The hostess was courteous. Atmosphere was bustling, not at all elegant, but as expected.

We were in the mood for hot pot and decided to try Purple Bamboo. It was  a real disappointment. The service was generally OK except they seemed to be in a rush to hurry us off. They brought over the bill halfway through our meal and started clearing the table before we were done. We had ordered the hot pot package. They charge extra for the soup base. The meat was ok, but the vegetables were poor. They gave a few leaves of lettuce, a single piece of broccoli, a slice of tomato, some cabbage and a few slices of root vegetables. It was not worth it.

First and last time coming here. Food looks good and love the setup but food is just okay. Just not worth the price but left a 15% tip anyways. ONLY! To have the waitress came back and said it was not enough tip! She wanted 18% tip. Wow... awkward. Never coming back here. This place is not busy for a reason. Go to royal hot pot, hotpot buffet or ibasaw for better hotpot and better prices.

Some of the better I have had in the area and believe me they are enough Chinese restaurants around. The hot pot well it was ok. The place was very clean and on the busy side. Some of the items used as the duck sauce was made different that the others restaurants in area. But none the less still good. The attention to detail was great and did not have to wait long for any of these food.

Hot pot, the beef coming like 30min before the vegetables.  That is why I rate this with one star.  My children can't wait so they deep the meat and by the time the vegetable come they all full.
