Whenever I get a package of plain M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels. Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the "loser," and I eat the inferior one immediately. The winner gets to go another round. I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theater of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world. Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment. When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd. Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., Hackettstown, NJ 17840-1503 U.S.A., along with a 3x5 card reading, "Please use this M&M for breeding purposes." This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of plain M&Ms. I consider this "grant money." I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the True Champion. There can be only one.

I recommend this facility. I do not share the experience of some of the people posting negatively about the care at this place. My Uncle John has been a long term resident. One thing I noticed right away is: the place does NOT have a bad odor. I am a medical professional and I can tell you I had never before been in a nursing home that didn't smell like urine. This one doesn't! They keep it very clean. Next, my Uncle is bedridden and they constantly attend and turn him. He went in with a bedsore and it is a miracle they were able to keep it from getting worse. Keep in mind that there are only five Google reviews on this site so far. People tend not to comment if they are satisfied: more often they do it when they are angry or dissatisfied. Especially with medical care. So 5 reviews are never representative of the overall quality of an office or facility. Might I suggest that if you have a problem with what is happening with the care here, go up the channels and talk with the folks in charge instead of flaming them on the internet. It may even help someone else. Thank you. And thank you to the good nurses and staff at Quality Healthcare in Northport.

Horrible, My father was there 3 days out of the hospital for rehabilitation from brain surgery. He was placed in a recliner, when he went to recline, it fell over and he hit his head. My mother was not notified, however something (God) had her call while eating her breakfast. She immediately arrived there to find my father incoherent. Got him to the hospital, and upon arrival he had two seizures. Had to be intibated, and placed in ICU for 6 days. Yes his recovery has been slow and I totally blame this incompetent place....DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONES TO THIS FACILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place should be shut down!!! The staff was awful and my grandfather had to go to ICU from staying there only 3 days with pneumonia!!! When they first arrived there on day one, there was a family member of a patient upset because their father had been sitting in a mess for hours!!

Three of my loved ones resided here. A wonderful enviroment with loving and caring nurses. Great activities including olympics and singing. No stench of urine. Immediate calls to you in the case of an accident. I would highly recomend this facility. :)
