I am going to be completely honest when I say this: don't send your child to this school! They are very nice teachers and staff, however my kid got sick from the food there once. He had the stomach flu!

Rachel Carson Elementary School is the newest flagship school of the Sammamish Plateau of Lake Washington School District with a capacity of 600 students from preschool up to 5th grade! The overall staff is an excellent congruent group that works above and beyond with much teamwork and sharing to nurture the children in a most positive and educational environment. A visit to Carson Elementary School will find that this school is one of the cleanest, well kept and most modern facilities found anywhere in the nation! The staff is very dedicated, professional and nurturing to the students where children learn to excel through positive reinforcements. Parental involvement is encouraged and welcome!

We had a worst experience in this school. There is an abusive teacher in grade 1 called Ms. Luck who traumatizes kids and the principal backs her up. I still remember my daughter's first day at this school and how enthusiastic and excited she was to go to school . To my surprise, within a week she was begging and pleading not to go to school. Principal behaved totally ignorant as if it was happening for the first time and my daughter was at fault. Later on, I got to know few other parents whose kids were her victims. I have no idea what she gets out of putting a scar in 6 year old's minds and making them wary of going to school. Is it a right behavior?

Be aware of abusive teacher (Carson elementary school)! We had a terrifying experience with Ms. Luck, 1st grade teacher (in Carson elementary school) I will summarize aspects of Ms. Luck’s treatment of our child in some details. - In the first week, there were several incidents of Ms. Luck screaming at our child - On a few occasions, she caused pain to him by grabbing and clinching his arm forcefully - On several cases, she would ignore him for extended periods of time. One example was making him stand for 10 minutes in class when he was confused where to sit; other cases include her refusing to help him when he asked her for it - Overall, she treated him differently and distinctively harshly as compared to other students in her class - As a result of Ms. Luck’s attitude towards him, our child was panicking and afraid to go to school, afraid of Ms. Luck, and would cry almost every day after school, stay sad and depressed for hours after school. The difference in our child behavior was so dramatic, so we have to ask for help one of the psychologist from Center for Assault and Traumatic Stress and the psychologist confirmed that our child was mistreated. - This was dramatically different from his past experience in the kindergarten, and such change in his behavior, to become depressed and afraid is very atypical for his happy and friendly nature. Ms. Luck tried to get rid of our child simply because he wasn’t fluent in English as other kids, therefore Ms. Luck would have to spend extra time and pay extra attention to him. Ms. Luck was abusing and mistreating the child just because of that. When we spoke with the principal of this school (Mary Cronin), about Ms. Luck behavior, she said “It’s not possible” and tried to cover up this incident instead of scheduling meeting with us to figure out why Ms. Luck was mistreating our child. We are sending our kids to school and hope that they will be in positive, learning environment. But what to do if the teacher is the bully? What would you do if your child was mistreated in school?
