Ramen House Shinchan is the first authentic Japanese Ramen restaurant owned and run by Japanese in Chicago area.

They over charged my boyfriend's credit card and gave themselves a nice $20.00 tip for themselves! Be careful at this place, had we not been looking at the account we probably would have never noticed. They also charge 50 cents PER SAUCE, and do not tell you prior to giving you the sauce. I feel like sauce should be included at a joint like this. The servers all seem confused and your never really given a dedicated server....they all just try to help everyone and rotate servers between tables....very unorganized. There's also another HUGE half of the place that's rarely opened up with 15 empty tables. Instead they stuff you in like sardines by strangers and only keep one half open.

All I have to say is that this place is BOMB AF! Full of flavor, options are awesome on the menu, super friendly staff, and portions are too big to finish. We left full and ate only half of ramen. Prices are good too, everything basically within $10 or less.

If you want tasty, affordable, authentic ramen or Japanese food this is the place to go. The service is friendly and quick, and there's a good amount of seating. I went at 7PM on a Friday and didn't have to wait. You'll leave feeling full, and if you can't you can take it to go. Definitely check out it.

You like Ramen? Just go. It's as legit as it gets for real Japanese food. If you want trendy "rolls", please stay away, the crowd is too thick on the weekend as it is. Our family absolutely adores the food and services here.

This ramen is wonderful! It’s really hard to choose just one but let me also recommend their fried chicken. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the service is really friendly!
