Story

Rare Earth, a worldly retail treasure celebrating 46 years of business in Southern Oregon, continues the Rare Earth story with a neighborhood shop on the circle of A St in Ashland’s Historic Railroad District. Rare Earth’s irresistible affection began on the Ashland Plaza in 1969. With young friends rooted in the 60’s and a fun groovy community, Rare Earth quickly became an Ashland icon. Thanks to all that have enjoyed the stores throughout the years!

Upon entering our neighborhood Rare Earth you step into a world of fun and joy with music playing from your favorite artists on a big screen TV and the aroma of scented candles and incense. You’ll find very special and unique gifts from all over the world, from beautiful imported glassware in stunning colors to delicately hand carved wooden furniture from Tibet. Our store front garden area boasts petrified wood log rounds from Indonesia for casual seating.
