ReCycle Shop Inc. is a full service bike shop specializing in mid- to high-end bicycles and products.

Story

We deal in new bicycles (the name sometimes confusing) and we offer professional mechanical and fit services. Our shop is nestled in historic downtown Ellensburg, Washington, in what was an old welding shop. We have high ceilings, bikes hanging everywhere, and a concrete floor that says, " don't worry if your bike is dirty". Come on in!

We are a full-service bike shop with 6 mechanic stands, a truing station, fitting station, hanging scale, and a drill-press. We also have frame milling tools and other specialty equipment. Fred has been working on bikes since 1970.

Fred Johnston is a certified master level Specialized Body Geometry fit specialist with extensive experience fitting riders on road, mountain and TT bikes. We have a fit studio space complete with cameras and BG FIT DATA video analysis software.

Today I broke my friends bike while riding and took it to the shop after about 2 hours tinkering with it. Took them 5 minutes to find a spare part and put it me on my way with the bike working to perfect condition. Very helpful guys, 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

We've had such a great experience at the Recycle Shop. The owner and staff are friendly, helpful, fair and knowledgeable. It's definitely our go to place for bikes, repair, parts, etc.

Guys at Recycle are top notch. Always helpful and friendly. This will always be my go to bike shop no matter where I live.

Fred at the Recycle Bike Shop helped me out a lot choosing my new bicycle. I went in to ask some questions about e-bikes which he happily answered and then asked if I considered a proper fitted road bike instead. I said I hadn't and he asked if I wanted to try one. He found a frame that was large enough for me (I am 6'1" and 300#s) and then took the time to fit it to me. I went on a test ride and much to my surprise it was amazing! I thought because of my fitness level I needed an e-bike to get me going but really all I needed a good bicycle that was properly fitted. It has really been a joy to ride and I am glad I stopped in. I highly recommend this shop to any level cyclist.

Unbeatable I live 45 minutes away from Recycle shop and finally contacted them when looking for a new bike. From the time I was on the phone with them to this day (3 months later) they have been top notch. Short Story: I have very bad problems with hands and feet going numb while riding. The time I've spent bike fitting with Fred and Ken (multiple hours) has caused these to not be a problem with me. I knew Fred would take care of me when I asked him "What if buying a new bike, bike fit, and shoes don't solve this problem??" He responded "Then I'll find someone who can solve it." Long Story: As said above, my hands and feet would go terribly numb 10 miles into a ride and make it almost unbearable. Come to find out, I've been wearing wrong size shoes, wrong size bike, and taking advice from people that don't know what they are doing. I spent alot of time (2 hours) working with Recycle to make sure the bike that I was going to get was going to work for me and be the right size. 2 weeks later I finally decided on a bike and got everything setup the way it should be. Coming back a couple of times after that to make some small adjustments have made it that much better. Side Note: My bike developed a crack in the carbon top tube. I brought it in and Tanner got it swapped out with Specialized no questions asked. A week later I'm on a brand new bike, setup just like the previous one. Moral: I'm a service driven person and like to be on a first name basis with any kind of customers or suppliers I have. Its hard for me to buy local after not really being helped out by other shops closer to me now after dealing with Recycle I won't shop anywhere else and they have gotten my lifetime business and suggestions. I really wish I would have found them when I first started riding.
