The staff here is great. The check up went so smoothly and they answered any and all questions. Most importantly, they showed love towards my pup and really made sure she was healthy and comfortable. I would recommend this vet to anyone.

We've been going here for 2 years now, since we got our dog. Up until now the service has been great. Dr. Schwirk and Dr. Turner were extremely kind and loving to our dog and helpful. Today we went in for the third time in 4 months. Unfortunately none of the other visits were with Dr. Schwirk or Dr. Turner. Maybe from now on I will stick to them. Our first visit was for what was diagnosed as a UTI. We got the prescription and things got better. A month and a half ago we went in for our second visit. It was the same symptoms, frequent urination, straining to urinate...We were told it had something to do with her vulva. They gave us two weeks of antibiotics and did a culture on her urine. This visit was more expensive because of the culture. About a week into the meds she was doing better. However we got a call saying that there was no bacteria in her urine so it wasn't a UTI, but to finish the meds. Fine. Symptoms started again much quicker this time, only 6 weeks. We are told it might be kidney stones. To check it would be $200 for the xray and $250 for some bloodwork. Ouch, but ok, figured it was best to know what was going on. When I go to pick her up, we agree on the antibiotics again, since they helped last time and a special diet to help dissolve the stones. Maybe. Great, not really. Go to pay and get hit with a $750 bill. Not ok. Expecting maybe $450 to $500. A lot of back and forth on the bill and the charges, all which took over 45 minutes, so I was unable to pick up my son from school and had to cancel my client at work. Then when the prescription came it was only 40 pills. It didn't add up to the two weeks the doctor said she needed to take them, should have been 56 pills, I didn't want to mess with medication. Well apparently the doctor decided to change the amount, but didn't explain that to me. Gave me new food for the special diet, but doctor didn't explain how to transition the dog to the new food. The receptionist helped with a few options, which was nice, but it would have felt more secure if doctor explained how to transition. Definitely not a good visit. Grateful to the manager who was able to cancel the blood work after doctor said she could, but then couldn't. Glad the reviews are read. The director of the hospital called to find out about my review. Offered to credit the $30 bag of food. Going to schedule my follow up with Dr. Schwirk, we will see how it goes.

Ran my dog with cancer that spread there because to me her gums seemed very light. I asked the dr F ( we will call her) that maybe if they can give her fluids or blood if my dog penny needed it. Dr F asked if she can do x-ray and some type of ultrasound. I told her penny threw up that morning and a few hours later ate breakfast and that she acts normal not in pain. Having an issue with management from phone call earlier made it uncomfortable being there but penny had me worried. Dr f said after she checks penny out she may have to come back and had a talk. I said there is no way I am gonna put penny to sleep especially acting normal for a dog with cancer. She looked at me with attitude. While she had penny doing whatever tests she did my cell phone battery died so I went to desk told receptionist that I would be in my car explained what car Incase I was needed and was charging phone. 20 minutes later when I went back in the receptionist said the dr. Was looking for me and to wait in waiting room and not in theexaming room I was in. A tech came to get me and bring me to the examine room . De came in and said she needs a specialist and there is nothing they could do for penny. So I questioned not even Iv to hydrate she said no, and stated if I was serious to take her to specialist. That all cost over $500 for nothing I asked for. So I got penny paid the bill and left for home. That was 4 days ago penny is here and today went to her cancer doctor at garden state who gave her the chemo. Yes her platelets are on the low side which is normal for penny. If your going to Hillsborough, good luck and If Red Bank Vetinary hospital is the hospital you want then I suggest going to the one in Tinton Falls where your listened to and treated with respect and your. It just looked at as dollar signs. . It’s worth the trip and you will be happier.
