We were here to celebrate our anniversary. This was maybe the 4th time to been here. I love seafood and the ingredients are always fresh fresh. We had a bowl of chowder, and shrimp cocktails to start. 10/10 I got a 6oz Connecticut lobster roll with salad, the lobster meat was so good, the bread was in its perfect soft condition. I love it! 10/10 My bf got fish tacos with fries. Tasted very good, but a little bit salty, overall 8.5/10 The last dish was lobster mac & cheese, I would rather order another lobster roll. The mac & cheese be honest not good, watery, and has no flavor, very disappointed. 5/10 5 for the lobster meat on top. Friendly staff, clean restaurant.
Delicious! So, if you know me, I’m not a huge lobster roll kind of guy. However, my friends are. So we ended up checking this spot out and golly, it was amazing! My friends thoroughly enjoyed the lobster roll! They have an option call “main event” which we highly recommend. Best bang for your buck. The staff was very attentive and receptive to our need and the ambience gave you inside a boat vibe!
This place was highly recommended but I wasn't a fan. The tables are small, thankfully we were able to be moved to a 4 top even though it was only 2 of us service was amazing the food was nothing to spectacular. We had calamari that was way way to salty, crab dip that was lacking something maybe a dash of Old Bay or something didn't hit like I thought it would, the clams were good. The Maine event, the lobster rolls- Connecticut roll was over cooked and missing the rich butter flavor and the fried lobster was so sweet it tasted more like dessert but they were a good amount of lobster. The drinks were great
We enjoyed restaurant week here and while the food was good, it certainly wasn’t the best lobster rolls we’ve had and it didn’t taste super fresh. I guess we expected more from a place that was dedicated to lobster. The service was great though - I ordered the frosé and it was terribly sweet and undrinkable. Our server saw that I had barely touched it and offered me another drink to replace it with no additional charge. The mojito was way better. It’s just okay but not sure if it’s worth the trek if you live far from it.
This is home to the best lobster roll in the city, or at least the most generously portioned lobster roll. The price of the roll could also reasonably higher given how much lobster meat they pile onto their rolls. While most other places barely fill the roll with meat and the meat is usually chopped too small, Red Hook Lobster Pound piles their rolls high with big chunks of delectable lobster meat. I usually get the Maine lobster roll with fries and a beer, and their cocktails are surprisingly good, too. Their hot crab dip and their chilled lobster tail are also delicious. Their outdoor shed is a lovely place to take in the nice weather while you enjoy your food. The service is always great, and Rob in particular is excellent and is very friendly and helpful.
Delicious experience. Happy hour frozen margaritas is a to do . Lobster mac and cheese, Lobster fries, clam chowder and seafood boil were amazing. Ordered the crab dip. Wasn't a fan fave of the table.Food: 5/5
Seafood boil joint in Red Hook We were super excited to try this place, and as soon as i had access to a car living in Manhattan, took the family to try this place out. To begin: for 3 people, we tried the captains dinner and added king crab. The total bill was 350$ and we didn't have any alcohol, and I understand, anytime you add king crab, its high market price. I ll start with my comments for the food: - the appetizers were good, we ordered the crab dip and the caramelized brussels sprouts, both very nice. - the lobster was dried and over cooked, the lobster tail was quite chewy and was hard to chew. now for the biggest area of complain from me: - the boil was devoid of any type of sauce, no butter, no cocktail sauce, no tartar sauce. - now i get it, maybe a boil since its already seasoned, does not require any sauce, but I like to sauce up my seafood. - I asked for some cocktail sauce, and for 3 people, our server brought out 1 tiny container, so after it ran out, i asked for another and on the second occasion, she brought another single small container of sauce. I then again asked a 3rd time of which she totally forgot. And on top of that, i noticed the bill, i was charged I believe an additional 1$ for the sauce. - I was quite incensed and shocked that for a meal that cost 350$ for 3 people, i was nickel and dimed for a sauce charge, if I knew i was going to be charged for sauce, I would have asked for many many more. To be quite honest, everything was pretty ok up until the sauce incident, she could clearly see that I was in need of sauce, but decided to slowly provide me with sauce, and on top of that, actually charge me for it. How i would have rather she handle it was to say, there is a charge for sauce, how many would you like, that would have been better. The fact this restaurant would charge me for sauce is 1 thing, but to what appear would be that they are stingy with sauce is beyond me, i mean, i spent 350$ willingly, I wasn't going to quarrel about sauce charges, in any case, I won't be going back.
Maine Lobster Roll is the name of the game at RHLP. Firm, fresh and perfectly chilled. Must get the 6oz because why not. Beautiful menu overall complimented with a variety of cocktails and wines.
The best part was the lobster itself. It actually had a lot of meat on it, was on point and the price was reasonable. The fried shrimp was not fresh, the clam chowder was blend corn and potatos the same. I didnt get to try the lobster rolls but they looked good. the back was closed so the place only had 1 waitress working, we were kinda tight, however it was okay is not high end but i guess if you want a good lobster i'd recomend it for that :
Been here a few times. Always delicious. Today, we got the calamari to start off. Perfect. I had the Connecticut lobster roll. My wife got the Maine lobster roll. Both filled with fresh lobster. No filler. Washed it down with Maine Lunch beer. Perfect day.Food: 5/5
