What a great home! And Ferndale is such an inviting village.  Also close to the beaches, Redwood National Park, Fishing, Hiking, and everything else we love to do!

Just spent a couple days at the sweet little studio cottage on Berding St. in Ferndale, treating myself and some friends to a "staycation". They stayed in the main house & while I had to cottage to myself. The accommodations were perfect: a very comfy queen size bed, a warm & sunny sunroom, a private patio, TV & wi-fi, quiet and peaceful. Just me this time but perfect for a couple as well. A great place to relax and recharge your batteries. An easy drive from Eureka took me to another world. The Victorian Village has it all with downtown just minutes away. So much to see and do in and around Ferndale with the perfect cottage to enjoy it all from.

Location, location, location! My group of friends tries to get to Ferndale at least once a year...It's the perfect vacation spot for couples or friends. Pristine beach, remarkable architecture, redwoods nearby, great food and shopping, art galleries, plus quirky and fun events to take in like vintage car shows, the Kinetic Sculpture Race every May, and holiday festivities that take you back to the good old days...I like to hike Russ Park and the BLM trails at Centerville with my daughter or nieces and nephews....However, on our last we inadvertently booked a vacation rental that was several miles out of Ferndale proper...So, we were stuck taking the car everywhere, which isn't horrible, but not our preference for sure. ANYWAY, this time around we were thrilled to find "The Cream City Cottage," a new vacation rental that is within SHORT walking distance of everything great about Ferndale. Roll out of your (great quality, comfortable!) bed and over to Humboldt Sweets for your ginormous pecan roll! Step out of your pretty, landscaped yard and in a matter of seconds you're strolling Ferndale's historic, eye-poppingly gorgeous Victorian Main Street full of cute shops. My point is, Cream City Cottage is super convenient for traveler's like me who want everything to be CLOSE, CLOSE, CLOSE and easy!
 Beyond it's extremely convenient location, we also appreciated being able to have the 2 bed/1 bath main house (with it's delightful breakfast nook and dining room! We ate scones and played cards in there!) AS WELL AS the adorable studio-sized cottage at the back of the property. It was nice for one of the couples in our group to be able to retire to the quiet seclusion of the studio cottage while the rest of us stayed up yakking about old times to all hours in the comfortably furnished living room. If anyone is traveling with their parents or in-laws or another family, I'd highly recommend spending the extra few $ to rent the studio cottage as well. It has a good queen bed, a nice hot shower in it's bathroom, and a teeny kitchenette where you can make coffee in the machine or fridge/nuke your gourmet leftovers from Curley's. 
  We don't really cook when we travel--we want to eat out! But if you do like to cook or want to save money, the main house kitchen is awfully pretty, and fully stocked.
  All in all, Cream City Cottage is a wonderful addition to the Ferndale vacation offerings. A beautiful, comfortable place that will make your vacation oh-so-easy to enjoy!
