It took me a while to write this because I’m not interested in making a big deal of things. However, it dawned on me this morning that maybe I should share my experience and help someone else out. In March I decided I wanted my natural hair straightened. Keep in mind my hair was in a high puff with curls. When I walked in I was greeted very nicely but when I explained what I wanted the lady looked at my hair and frowned as if my hair was going to be a challenge, this already made me uncomfortable. Going further I sat back to get my hair washed and the older lady also frowned at me the same way. She was very rough and combed my hair with shampoo in it from my scalp to the ends. Anyone who has natural hair knows how badly I wanted to cry. After getting washed I sat in the chair the stylist blow dried and straightened my hair which wasn’t the problem. The issue began when she asked to trim my hair. I trusted in her abilities because she did so well with the previous two processes. This was a huge mistake!!! She not only cut but she thinned out the ends of my hair as if she felt like a stylist for a model on the runway! It has been a year and I am just now getting my hair to grow evenly! Be careful with this place because my friend who is natural went shortly after for the same style but she added a deep conditioning, in-which without any knowledge to her, had chemicals that straightened her hair. She cut it all off and had to start all over again!

Stopped in on 2/14/18 around 1:15 pm for a roller set and was "greeted" by a woman who was ridiculously unprofessional. Over the past year I'd visited the salon a number of times when I couldn't get to my regular stylist and had always been charged $35. Since there's no price list posted ANYWHERE in the salon and this woman was unfamiliar to me, to avoid any confusion, I mentioned upfront the price I'd always been charged to which she immediately says that this can't be true and that's she worked for the company for 6 years and the prices have never been that low; then she asks me if my hair was natural (meaning no chemicals). In my head I was annoyed but I tell her yes my hair is natural and she starts shaking her head as if to say 'No' almost before I could even finish my statement... Nonetheless, to myself, I said OK no problem with this line of questioning because in my experience with Dominican salons they sometimes charge more for unprocessed hair; but then she proceeds to tell me today (2/14) is not the 'specials' day where a discount is offered on services. This is when I outwardly became annoyed because 1) it's rude and presumptuous to think that a customer is either not smart enough to remember the days on which they were serviced or 2) that they are being dishonest in an attempt to underpay for services. The REALLY mind boggling part of it all is that besides 1 other person who - appeared to be a friend (and not a customer) since they were sitting directly next to one another and chatting when I came in - there was not a single other customer in the salon!! So let's assume that I *was* being dishonest when I quoted $35...which of course, I wasn't...but how smart is it to refuse a paying customer in an empty salon?? And on top of that the salon would not have had to use any of their own product because each time that I visited I arrived with my hair freshly washed with conditioner still applied and came with my own leave-in product. All she would've been doing is rinsing out my OWN conditioner, roller setting my hair and not even styling it!! because I do that myself when I get home. So anyway, after the unprofessional woman continued to shake her head as if I was lying, I just left. About a mile down the road it occurred to me to pull up my bank transactions on my phone because I'd remembered that I paid with my card a couple of times, so I did...and sure enough, in black and white were the charges of $35. I thought about going back to show her but I decided against it and instead quickly made a mental note to avoid this business for good. This woman, whoever she was, needs a lesson in customer service skills along with a bit of common sense ASAP!! Skip this place.

Ok first off, let me start by saying I visited this salon in March 2017 and I had a wonderful experience.....now fast forward to a few days ago and that's where it all went downhill fast. I walk in and was barely greeted by the woman at the front desk. She just told me to go to the back, and when I walked to the back, there was an equally unprofessional woman who just stood there on her phone not acknowledging me. So I went to sit at the wash bowl and the water was freezing! Aren't you supposed to test the water before putting it on the clients head?? She sucked at washing heads....it's alot more I could say about that but I digress....another distraction was a little girl (who belonged to one of the workers I guess, because I was the only client in there) who was clearly sick and was allowed to be out in the open with everyone else. If you know there's a sick child, wouldn't you keep her contained to one area AWAY from ppl?? Anyway, the last and final straw was when I went to pay and the woman at the front desk decides to tell me that the card machine was broken and I would have to use their ATM (which cost me a fee). If she knew the machine was broken she should have told me in the BEGINNING so I could CHOOSE to go to my bank or use their rip off ATM machine. And when I was telling her all this, she conveniently couldn't speak English that well anymore. I could go on and on about all the bad experiences but I don't have much space left. Whoever worked on Thursday, March 15th, around 3pm, needs to be fired. Plain and simple.
