It was a quick experience. I came in to pick up a package. There wasn't a line at the customer service desk. The staff member was friendly even though there was a small problem with inputting the item in their system. The whole transaction was at most a minute, a minute and a half tops. Also while walking around a staff member asked me if I needed help which was a nice gesture. Good customer service!

Was looking for boots, had great selection, brought out two colors of same type/size boot for me to to choose from. Answered some detailed questions. Great service. Even recommended a product they don't sell, but meet my needs. Walked out with great boots.

Nearly everything in the store is ridiculously overpriced. Normal people find this to be a turn off (in a rare turn of events, I'm categorizing myself as normal here). However, it became clear before I even walked in the door that this store was not for the plebs. It serves and services those that epitomize the hybridization of man and feminine hygiene product, one of which I encountered at the entrance. As I opened the door and stepped in, I glanced back to see if anyone was following. I have long made it a habit to always hold doors for people simply as a meager show of respect for my fellow humans. No one was close, but I did see a couple heading towards the door who had their hands occupied with their infant. Without hesitation, I immediately turned around and walked back out in order to wait for them and their child. Mixing children with door handles can have catastrophic results. Just ask the survivors of the attack on the USS Liberty. Anyway, while holding the door I made a friendly comment about the obligation I felt to hold the door for parents who were tending to their young one. They nodded and continued inside. I glanced behind me again to make sure my door duties were complete and when I turned back I was surprised to find the door inches from my face as it swung shut. How could this possibly have happened, you ask? Well Becca and Corky from Life Goes On hadn't bothered to even nudge the door back an inch for my sake. Well they must have been distracted by the baby, right? Wrong! THERE WAS NO BABY! Upon closer inspection, what I thought was an adorable human infant turned out to be a small sack of potatoes with a smiley face drawn on it. Clearly these two were professionals. This was not a spur of the moment con, no sir. I had been taken for a ride down the rabbit hole by two lifelong con artists and I never saw it coming. Sure I've been blind since birth, but that's no excuse. The ramifications of that fateful encounter still haunt me at night. At least I think it's night when they haunt me. I lie awake on my kitchen floor for minutes, sometimes seconds, desperately trying to make sense of it all. How many doors had I held open in my life? And for who? Good God...for who? Who was I responsible for letting in? Wilford Brimley was right. I'll never be clean again. Never. The store itself is nice though. And they have free WiFi. Two stars.

Well stocked outdoor supply store. Easily a one stop shop for hiking, backpacking, biking, yoga, you name it. Don't expect cheap prices, but you can earn money back with a membership in no time. Only negative is that they don't do snowboard or snow gear rentals.

Great selection of outdoor gear. Members get a end-of-year dividend (purchase rebate) based on purchases and how they pay. Backpacking, climbing, cycling, skiing (Nordic and alpine) whitewater, REI has it all. Buy REI brand gear and save even more.
